im ngl this is one of the best more puzzle games i've ever played, i love the non-linear format for puzzle games so much
Played mostly offline, so playing time shown is much lower than actual. I completed Cosmic Express and this looked even more polished. The visuals and audio are nice. The story and the world to explore are kind of interesting. But the actual puzzles are utterly boring. I played a lot of puzzle games and this is one of the most boring ones. I don't know, maybe pushing the logs and tree trunks in different ways just doesn't feel fun.
Good puzzle game that thrives on making the most out of a very simple mechanic, which is the way of the greats. I did have some issues with it: 1) The most straightforward fixable one - map should be something that can be brought up any time. It's a pain to navigate later in the game when solving harder puzzles or finding how to get to unexplored areas. 2) Speaking of unexplored areas - the idea of many of them being a puzzle in an of itself to access is fine, but with how often that is the case (especially with optional hard snowmen puzzles) it just gets obnoxious to poke around islands trying to find which is the right "starting point". I'd like to have the hint system point to those starting points similarly how early game it shows icons of where to go for progressing regular puzzles. 3) On the same note, I overall do think it could have been better to have a larger percentage of the game be more linear puzzles. As I said above it gets kind of grating to keep hunting for those harder puzzle starting points, but also I often found myself arriving at areas where for a brief while I was a bit confused as to how to proceed and then realizing - oh, this is actually some easy area I missed and I am trying to apply more advanced solution mechanics to this...
