This is a short, warm and cosy game about caring for the environment and helping animals in need. It does everything it sets out to do well and promotes changing the world for the better, one bird at a time. I would recommend it to people of all ages, but especially to kids and teenagers.
Arrrrgh, lately I am so tired and need some chillaxin' on the moon. But since I can't afford that, then may as well just play a simple yet enjoyable game down here on this beloved mostly green and blue planet. My backlog can be so overwhelming and quite stressful. Sometimes I need a break from it all, so I look for games that can boost my mood until I’m ready to tackle it all again. And then, finally I found one. This game will give you a short, heartwarming experience that feels like a sun-soaked summer holiday on a Mediterranean island. Developed by the creators of Monument Valley, it’s a "chillaxin'-ectathon" that captures the innocent joy of childhood exploration. Not just for kids, but any mature gamers also can enjoy this 'kawaii game'. Experience a sunny, Mediterranean vacation as Alba Singh, a young girl saving a wildlife sanctuary. It’s a relaxing scavenger hunt where you photograph rare animals, clean up the island, and rally the community against a greedy developer. Perfectly wholesome, non-violent, and incredibly charming—think of it as a cozy, nature-themed photography adventure. Alba is a young girl visiting her grandparents for a week-long break. The peace is soon interrupted by a plan to build a massive luxury hotel on the site of a local nature reserve. Alongside your best friend Inés, you set out to save the sanctuary by starting a petition and documenting the island's diverse wildlife. The core gameplay revolves around exploring different biomes—from sandy beaches to ancient ruins—and using a smartphone camera to photograph animals. Each of the 60+ species is meticulously designed with realistic behaviors and sounds, making the simple act of bird-watching surprisingly engaging. Beyond photography, Alba involves small but satisfying acts of environmental care. You’ll spend time picking up litter, repairing broken birdhouses, and rescuing animals trapped in trash. These tasks aren't just busywork; they help convince the local residents to support your cause. The visuals are a highlight, featuring a vibrant "low-poly" art style that feels like a playable children's book. The soundtrack, composed by Lorena Álvarez, blends Spanish influences with an upbeat, relaxed energy that perfectly matches the island’s atmosphere. One minor drawback is the game's brevity; most players will reach the credits in just 2 to 4 hours. While some may find it too short for the price, the experience is so concentrated and joyful that it never feels like it's wasting your time. This game is widely considered perfect for everyone, regardless of their background or identity. It's a universal, family-friendly story about kindness, community, and the environment. Ultimately, Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is a refreshing, non-violent game suitable for all ages. This eco-adventure delivers a powerful message about conservation and community without being preachy, proving that even a small child can make a big difference in the world.
Absolutely fantastic game to play with your child to introduce them to games. My son and I still talk about this game. I highly recommend.
