Assassin's Creed II is a 2009 action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the second major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, and the sequel to 2007's Assassin's Creed. The game was first released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2009, and was later made available on Microsoft Windows in March 2010 and OS X in October 2010.

Runs well on modern hardware.

I'm writing this review after having completed my 5th playthrough of the game, some 6 years after the 4th one. 17 years old, as old as Ezio himself in the opening sequence, but Assassin's Creed 2 has lost none of its charm. The locations, the excellent score, Ezio, the modern day storyline, the parkour, it is all still great. It remains a gaming classic, the one that kicked the franchise into higher gear after an innovative but ultimately stiff first entry. However, it is far from perfect. Frustration crept in at times. Parkour is a double edged sword. After having played hundreds of hours in the RPG games, I was both amazed at how much more engaging the old parkour system is, but also a bit aghast at how sensitive it remains. The tolerance for locking onto objects is a bit too narrow, causing lots of jumping from roofs. It doesn't help that the camera can move independently from you and affects where you're aiming. The lack of parkour down is also a major gap in the game's design. And yet, it is far more interesting than the mindless system in the games we've had over the last 10 years. Detection, combat & fleeing are also not as good as they could be. Detection happens too quickly, especially by rooftop archers (of which there are far too many as the game progresses). The combat does not feel fluid and quite unsatisfying. And fleeing takes too long as guards keep up quite easily and because other guards that are patrolling are both everywhere and instantly in hostile mode. The rooftops offer too little solace, as there are many rooftop archers that likewise keep you spotted, and other guards are all as much parkour gods as Ezio. Fortunately many of these issues are refined over the course of Brotherhood & Revelations.
THIS IS GAME BETTER THAN THE OTHER ASSASSIN'S SERIES
Not gonna lie, this is one of the best Assassin's Creed i have ever played. The role, the story, even the combat. This game !!!!DESERVES A REMAKE!!!!, not a new game. I really hope the Assassin's Creed Ezio TRILOGY gets a remake. !!!!!!!!(EZIO AUDITORE DA FIRENZE)!!!!!!!! (Next Game AC Brotherhood)
