At Dead Of Night is part horror film, part horror game and part ghost hunt. It seamlessly blends live-action and graphics to create a unique immersive horror experience like no other. You play Maya, a student trapped in a remote hotel run by a psychopath called Jimmy Hall. Jimmy has tied up Maya's friends and locked them in their rooms, with evil intentions. Maya has managed to escape, but Jimmy is on the prowl looking for her. However, to get him to release her friends, Maya must uncover Jimmy's dark secret. Using an ancient ghost voice receiver she finds, Maya must communicate with the ghosts of Jimmy's past, who materialize around the hotel and gradually reveal their story.

Runs well on modern hardware.

At Dead of Night is a really well made game featuring Full Motion Video. I’ll be honest, I originally saw this game when Astral Spiff playing it on his channel. He made a well-made edited video of him playing through the story, and I enjoyed watching the story of the hotel unfold while watching this stream get bonked by Jimmy throughout the game (because he played the game on Extreme Difficulty). That video came out 3 years ago, and I came across it randomly while looking at Stream, and thought I’d buy the game, since I had enjoyed the video so much. Although I had already seen all the stories, it was still fun running around the hotel, trying not to get caught by Jimmy. The passage of time has also made me forget specifically where each item needed to be used, and which order the items needed to be presented, as remembering the story is one thing, but knowing which items progress the story is another. Overall, it was fun 100% the game, I would recommend the game to anyone who enjoys story game. I will say, throughout my entire playthrough I only encountered 1 bug. I had to replay the game a couple times when doing a hitless run on extreme difficulty, so I ran into the same bug a handful of times, but it was easily fixable. At one point in the game, you are meant to go into the theatre/stage room to witness someone on stage, witnessing it gives you a memory you can then ask a ghost about. Yet for some reason, this event doesn’t always trigger for some reason? It must be a common issue, as a quick google search showed multiple people had the same issue, and the fix is simply save the game, close it, and then boot up the game again. This method worked for me every time. Considering I played the game for near 16 hours, only encountering this 1 bug was quite impressive for me.
i cannot fathom how this possibly functions on a technical level and its baffling me, also the game is very fun and jimmy is scarier than most horror game villains despite just being a funny looking bald man. 9.5/10
This is most unique horror game I've played, the live action and point n' click make it the scariest and best horror game I've experienced.
