A young man, from a low-income family, moves away from his widowed father and his summer love to attend college at Burgmeister & Royce. As he is cast into freshman life and persuaded to join the up-and-coming fraternity Delta Iota Kappa, he'll be exposed to a new world filled with conflicts, alcohol, drugs and sex. Being a DIK is a choice driven adult Visual Novel (VN). In this game you play as a young male attending college and the choices you make will affect the characters around you and shape your character and adventure. Will you choose to play as a nice, caring and romantic guy or as someone more straightforward and daring? The girls in the game like different and may or may not be attracted to you based on your choices. Can you resist the temptations along the way to get the girl of your dreams or will you relent and just...experiment? Hey, it's college after all! The game is a Visual Novel and it's made more interactive through optional mini-games and free-roam events where you can explore the current environment. You can purchase boosters, cheats and skills to make the mini-games easier to pass and find hidden items that unlock special lewd artwork and more. Being a DIK Season 1 includes Episodes 1-4: Episode 1 - The Initiation Episode 2 - Maggot Brothers Episode 3 - 100% Episode 4 - When worlds collide Season 1 is packed with more than 361 animated scenes and over 8000 images. You can expect an 8-12 hour game that can be replayed numerous times to experience different paths and girls. Being a DIK: Season 2, and future seasons, will be a continuation to the story and released and sold separately as DLC.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Being a ♥♥♥ is the gold standard for this genre, and for good reason. This game presents itself as your typical AVN, sex and college. But as the story progresses you find yourself more interested in what's happening next in the story as opposed to who you can hook up with. I cannot recommend this game enough to those looking for a gateway drug into a genre of games.
This game seriously has no gosh darn right being as good as it is. Seriously. I'm sure a few of my friends on Steam have seen me on this game regularly much to their confusion. Well, I've had a few cold ones and I'm in a writing mood so I shall share my thoughts on this particular erotic visual novel. I recently finished Season 1 after almost nineteen hours, which is much longer than I anticipated. Each respective chapter is at least a few hours long depending on how much you decide to take your time with exploring the world around you and interacting with everything. Rest assured, you'll get your money's worth in regards to playtime with this first season. This game was.. an anomoly to me when I first heard about it. How did I hear about it? I was playing Akinator for the first time since I was in middle school trying to get him to guess the main character Dylan Cross from the comic Kill or Be Killed. Well, I don't know if Akinator sucks and fell off since middle school or if Dylan really is just that obscure but he was failing miserably at guessing correctly. One of his guesses was someone called "MC - Being a ♥♥♥" accompanied by a rather goofy looking image of the main character from this game. I probably thought something to myself along the lines of "..Why is he just called MC? And why does he look like that?" I looked up the game title and it looked like a dime a dozen low effort porn game that Steam is infested with. The trashy title, the character models, the in game screenshots... everything about it gave me low production vibes, the kind of thing you get for a quick jerk just to forget about it soon afterwards. Like I've said on my Leisure Suit Larry: Magna ♥♥♥ Laude review, pornographic games aren't really my thing. I kind of hate them, actually. They're more often than not low quality common denominator art created to make a quick buck off horny individuals. Nothing inherently wrong with that, it just isn't for me. Well, this game wasn't that. At all. I was ready to dismiss this game as nothing more than what I assumed it was just by looking at the steam page, but out of curiosity I decided to read the reviews since I tend to do that with most games I check out. A good story? Well written characters? consistent details and tidbits that are remembered and acknowledged by the story? A choice driven narrative where your decisions actually impact the plot? What? To say I was intrigued would be a slight understatement. After all, at that time I had been looking for a good choice driven story game. Given that I had recently gotten my paycheck and I didn't mind spending a little dough, I said what the hell and picked up Season 1 to give it a shot. One of the first things you'll notice is that this game gives you choices. A lot of them, actually. This is by far one of my favorite aspects of the game's story. It not only helps with making you feel like you're a part of this game's world, but it also allows you to shape the game's protagonist into whatever you want him to be. In my case, I named him Roscoe, so that's what I'll be calling him for the rest of this review. I truly love how personalized Roscoe can feel in this game. This game really allows you to express yourself through this guy. You can make him a kind, compassionate man who follows in his father's footsteps, a man who puts the needs of others above his own and someone who stands up for his friends, refusing to compromise his morals in favor of peer acceptance and social status. On the flipside, Roscoe can become a man who is confident in how he carries himself, not being afraid put his foot down and not caring what anyone thinks of him. You can make him fully indulge in debauchery and give into his worst impulses, putting his own needs on the forefront first without considering what those who care about him feel. Even better, you can choose to form Roscoe into a nuanced mix of these two personalities, a complex human who tries his best but sometimes struggles with the difficult situations thrown his way. Something else that caught my attention is the amount of art in this game. Pretty much every single piece of artwork used in this game to portray what's happening is unique. As a 3D artist, I really gotta give props to DrPinkCake for this one. The amount of effort put towards the visuals really deserves some amount of respect in my opinion. It makes getting through the game consistently fresh and engaging with something new to look at with every turn. Some of the characters, especially Derek, have really funny and endearing expressions that are a joy to look and laugh at. That's not even getting into the game's writing. I don't want to spoil too much, but this game does a damn good job at making you care about the characters you interact with and play as. I believe part of that is because of how lived in and alive the world feels even outside of the Roscoe's existence and influence. Roscoe feels like just a small piece in a grand and constantly changing college environment, which in my opinion causes your choices to carry much more weight and meaning to them than they otherwise would. Before I end this review off, I'd just like to say that this game's soundtrack is great. It is royalty free music at its best. I don't even really know how to describe it, it just makes me smile because of how charming it can be in some scenes. Please, if you're the type of player who enjoys choice driven visual novels, I cannot recommend this game in particular enough. I'll update this review when I get around to playing season 2. Maya is best girl!
obviously.... this game is what it is...we get it lol. But after playing it and realizing there's so many different storylines and you never know what is going to happen down each path its actually a great game and the storyline is actually a fantastic storyline. i recommend it to anyone. once you get get them past the fact the premise of the game its a great story!
