Runs well on modern hardware.

Bloons TD 6 is a very large upgrade in the Bloons TD Series. For those unfamiliar Bloons TD launched in 2007 as a browser game and has seen a few large version updates since then and has made it's way onto steam. The game is relatively easy to run on lower end hardware and only starts to lag in the later boards with so many animations and bloons on the screen. The objective of the game is to place towers and pop bloons that come in waves each round. The bloons are color coded that signify their layers and how hard they are to pop. The concept is pretty straightforward and basic and hasn't changed over the years outside of adding new layers of bloons. I am writing this review as someone who has been playing this series since Bloons TD 3. Bloons TD 6 is currently the latest in the series and it shows. Graphically the game is outstanding compared to years of past. There are a few new towers since Bloons TD 5 at the time of writing including the druid, alchemist, beast handler, mermonkey, and desperado. Bloonchipper was sadly removed in Bloons TD 6 likely due to being too overpowered. Bloons TD 6 also added many new mechanics to the game over Bloons TD 5 including 3 different tower upgrade paths unlike the previous game which had 2. There are also Tier 5 upgrades now for each path compared to 4 in Bloons TD 5. Paragons have also been added a few years back as a Tier 6 upgrade for have one of each upgrade path tier 5 on the map. Bloons TD 6 also has added many different "Heroes" which offer unique abilities and level up themselves. The game itself is also taking on a more advanced role by making things such as obstacles and buildings block your monkeys vision unlike previous games which means your towers need to be placed a little more strategically. For the first time ever this game has also divided different mokeys into groups, which are also color coded. This is for the new medals they added which include things like primary monkeys only. There are many more medals in this game for each map compared to the previous Easy, Medium and Hard. In terms of new mechanics Bloons TD 6 has added a lot of new bloons. The purple bloons are a new that need to be popped with pierce such as a dart or tack, this is very similar to the new MOAB style bloon the DDT. They also added fortified bloons which have a brown ring around them to signify they have double health before popping. Finally where Bloons TD 5 added the round 80 ZOMG green and black MOAB, Bloons TD 6 adds a new round 100 purple BAD. This functions the same as previous MOABs where it will release 4 ZOMGs once the outer layer is popped. This game does get very repetitive and for that reason I would recommend waiting for it to be on sale. I would still recommend this game. it's quite enjoyable and should bring you many hours of entertainment. Learning the monkeys and bloons in this game is also beneficial if you wanted to eventually play Bloons TD Battles 2 which is a multiplayer mode with stronger boards and slightly different mechanics that requires a good amount of knowledge on the game. There is also a Co-op mode in this game to complete boards with your friends and the rounds scale based on the number of people in game. Overall I think the additions in Bloons TD 6 are good, even though the game is more complex. I would like to see less new monkeys being added however as I think it's harder to learn for first time players and instead needs to feature a more exciting game play loop for experienced players. Overall I would rate this game an 8.5/10.
playing this game past 12 is actual hell i would rather have a toe nail chewed off one by one by a gay orphan kid with down syndrome while having a wet sponge getting shoved up my ass as the tv plays every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ episode of pibby to the point where i know the whole lore and they rip off my eyelids so i cant close my eyes and they nail my ears to the wall so i cant turn away or try to close my ears
One of the best tower defense games available, packed with content and endless replayability. The huge variety of monkeys, upgrades, and strategies makes every map feel like a new puzzle to solve. Regular updates and new challenges keep the game fresh even after dozens of hours. It's easy to pick up, but mastering higher difficulties is incredibly rewarding.
