It's a cute game on the surface but mathematically broken for completionists. The popups telling you what to do are cool. However, the side quests become so bizarre and so out of sync that you cannot reasonably complete them. For example, a level 8 quest shouldn't be sending you to a level 20 dungeon. No thanks. That happened multiple times, destroying any sense of natural progression. Although I made it to level 17 with multiple weapons upgrades, it still wasn't enough to beat the monsters in level 15 dungeons, which you absolutely need to complete the side quests. Worse yet, I didn't realize before putting in 4 hours of that nonsense, that modifiers were necessary to complete all the Steam Achievements. There's a "Nine Lives" challenge that forces you to use ridiculous stack challenges - like play the whole game without armour or never level up..you die Nine times?? Too bad so sad. Your ENTIRE file disappears. That's multiple unfair penalties despite hours of work. In what universe has it become "normal" to have to exploit game mechanics just to hit a 100% completion milestone? Absolutely not. If you care about your sanity, skip this one.
Sometimes simple is best, and Cat Quest is a puurrfect example of it. It's an action RPG with only a few mechanics, it's easy to get into and it stays fun for the whole playthrough. There isn't much in terms of story.
a good palette cleanser between other big games. Simple, fun and bite sized. Cat puns galore
