Cat Quest 3 is a good game and a good sequel to the second one. Gameplay wise the game is just an upgrade to the first two and fun. All combat boils down eventually to just spamming magic and swinging but that can be a good thing too. Me and some else played it and 100% it together and took about 16 hours. Its fun to play and doesn't overstay its welcome either. I think I liked the writing for the story in the second one more than in this one because I never really got any attachment or feeling with Captain Capey. The writing in the side quests though is so so funny and good and creative. I thought the lore of the Golden One was crazy and the 8bit castle was fun!
I’ve been a fan of the Cat Quest series since the first game, so when Cat Quest III was announced I got really excited, especially after seeing that it was about pirates, since pirate games are some of my favourites. Just like the previous games, this one is very straightforward and easy to get into. Exploring the world feels smooth and relaxing, and the combat is simple but really satisfying. The game never tries to overcomplicate things, and that’s honestly one of the reasons why the series works so well. What surprised me the most was how good the ship navigation and naval combat felt. Sailing around the map and fighting enemy ships genuinely reminded me of playing Assassin’s Creed Black Flag again, which is still my favourite pirate game ever. Of course Cat Quest III is much more casual and light-hearted, but the pirate vibe is absolutely there and I loved every second of it. I honestly recommend not only this game, but the entire Cat Quest series. They’re fun, charming, affordable games that are perfect if you just want to relax and have a good time. I’ll definitely be waiting for the next game in the series.
