I seriously love this game! It's slow, peaceful and relaxing. No time limits no combat. If you are stressed or anxious this game is the perfect remedy. The graphics are colorful and cute and the music is soothing. The game play is fun greeting villagers with a happy hello and helping them along your way to earn hearts. With hearts you can upgrade your caravan with lots of useful and fun items.
This is my comfort game—so my review is most definitely biased. Enjoy!
My partner bought me Cozy Caravan during some really tough times, in which it was my breath of fresh air amidst suffocating amounts of stress. Said stress really did a number on my health, and this game helped me weather through frequent panic attacks. Just like many other reviews say, it helps a lot in calming down. It's therapy packaged in the form of a joyful, comforting, and wonder-filled adventure. The game doesn't rush you. Timeflow is strongly connected to the amount of actions you perform (a little bit like some table-top games), so you can go as slow or as fast as you wish. But even so, the game often pushes you deliberately towards slowing down, through various features. Just to give you my favourite example: the cooking and crafting minigames reward you better if you craft everything one by one—in the process of which I also very often lose myself to a state of flow. That said, because timeflow is defined by your actions, it means you learn to choose which route you take, which quests you focus on during the week, which gardens you pick produce from, or even where you plan your stops for the night. I have said it in some of my other reviews and I'll say it here as well: I greatly appreciate games where the skills you use during gameplay can translate and improve you in real life. The skills that Cozy Caravan helps you hone are time management and strategic planning. Another thing I appreciate, specifically in the case of this game, is that the new QOL features that the devs have added by popular request (batch crafting, sprinting, quest logs, smoother animations) are all optional. This is good, because there are many kinds of people in the community with different playstyles. Some of us treat this game as a way to slow down while others would like to enjoy the story, scenery, and overall vibes a little faster. The fact that these features can be toggled on and off at will means that everyone can play in their own pace and style, which I love. Even though I have already made my way out of the aforementioned tough times, I still wholeheartedly return to Cozy Caravan for a fun and peaceful experience. I do recommend this game to others, too, who are in need of slowing down, stressed, anxious, or—on the other hand—if you just want to treat your inner child to some fun. There's plenty of comfort and wonder to find in here! <3
