This game certainly is cozy, and there is indeed a caravan. 10/10 advertising. Cozy Caravan has a simple gameplay loop: - Gather materials. - Craft items from said materials. - Sell the items at the weekend market. - Repeat. You don't even have to attend the weekend markets if you're not ready. It's just the best time to accumulate the game's only currency, Guild Tokens. These are used for upgrades, most are for cosmetics and convenience, but a few are essential for progression. You can also get Guild Tokens from doing quests and helping people. No need to worry about money, Bubba handles that, probably. When launched for the first time, Cozy Caravan will recommend using a controller. However, mouse and keyboard work just fine. The game also suggests using the mouse to drive the caravan, but I recommend that you use WASD to steer and hold the Spacebar to accelerate, it's better. The minigames also work well with a mouse and keyboard. Just keep in mind that the minigames involving mouse movement will lock-in the cursors location once the minigame starts. So moving the cursor to a different part of the screen after the minigame starts will mess up the detection. But even if you mess up a little, most of the minigames are fairly simple and forgiving. Except Hopscotch. Hopscotch is brutal. Never underestimate Rosie. There is a day timer, however, it only progresses when you do tasks such as travelling, harvesting, completing quest objectives, etc. So you can take your time when exploring new areas. Unfortuantely it can also make travelling long distances rather tedious, as you can accidently burn away an entire day if you take a slight detour. Not good for when you want to participate at a specific market location. The crafting can also be tedious, depending on what you want to make and how much. You need to be holding the ingredients to craft, and you can't pull ingredients from your storage container mid craft. The max amount of backpack slots you can have is 7, and some of the higher quality items can require up to 5 ingredients to craft. So if you want to maximize your profit, you're going to spend a long time going back and forth from your storage to your crafting stations just to get a decent amount. Another issue I have with this game is the amount of surface level bugs I've come across despite taking my time and playing normally. Nothing game breaking, but little things like mislabeled speech bubbles and conversations where the characters are completely silent or use the wrong voices. With the game coming out of Early Access I thought little things like this would have been ironed out by now. It makes me a little worried that my save might be bugged in a way that I wouldn't know, and maybe I'm missing dialogue or other content because of it. I waited for the 1.0 launch to avoid that worry. Despite that, I still very much enjoyed my time with Cozy Caravan. It has it's jank and questionable design decisions, but it still provided the cozy experience it promised with an impressive amount of customization. It's a joy looking through the community screenshots tab and seeing so many players being able to express themselves in drastically different ways. Plus, it's still getting updates, so maybe some or all of the issues I mentioned will be remedied in the future.
Crazy Caravan is a wonderfully made game that offers a perfectly chill experience, making it incredibly easy to switch off and enjoy. While you can certainly rush through the side quests to reach the finish line, I enjoyed taking my time each week to soak in the atmosphere of the markets. Its adorable art style adds a layer of charm that makes every moment spent travelling and exploring feel special. This local gem is a must-play for anyone looking to trade high-speed stress for a peaceful, slow-paced adventure.
A nice quest based game where you drive around in a caravan and sell stuff. The world is very nice looking and the mechanics work well. In the end it's a little bit of a grind.
