Crypt of the NecroDancer is a 2015 roguelike rhythm game created by Brace Yourself Games. The game takes fundamental elements of a roguelike dungeon exploration game and adds a beat-matching rhythm game set to an original soundtrack written by Danny Baranowsky. The player's actions are most effective when moving the character set to the beat of the current song and are impaired when they miss a beat, so it is necessary to learn the rhythmic patterns that the various creatures follow. The mixed-genre game includes the ability to import custom music, and the option to use a dance pad instead of traditional controllers or the keyboard. The game was released for Linux, OS X, and Windows in April 2015, being co-published by Klei Entertainment, for the PlayStation 4 and Vita in February 2016, for the Xbox One in February 2017, and for Nintendo Switch in February 2018. Crypt of the NecroDancer Pocket Edition, developed for iOS, was released in June 2016.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Great game so far. The soundtrack and gameplay are great. Recommending if you like rouge-like or rouge-lite dungeon crawlers (you can play both ways). Its challenging but very satisfying. Also, I recommend playing with a controller. (you can switch to using a controller in settings, you can also rebind controller and keyboard inputs, though most controllers should be good by default).
This is a game you just have to like wire your brain for cause initially you just arent in the right mindset but eventually you play enough that you start to understand exactly how the game works and why the little things matter and what items you like and you learn exactly how every enemy moves. Then it all clicks into place and you enter an insane flow state, and then you make one mistake and it throws you off and you lose flow state and instantly die from full health, so then you have to learn to control your emotions, to make a mistake and instantly course correct without panicking. All of this just to still die repeatedly on the zone four boss, then jump into all zone once you have finally beaten zone four only to realize how much you relied on that extra health and repeatedly get your ass kicked in zone 1 because you aren't used to only having three hearts. 12/10, insanely peak experience, still haven't beaten all zones but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i've gotten so close and I know when I do it it'll be the best feeling in the world.
Turns out, a roguelite dungeon crawler that's also a rhythm game is really fun.
