Ok so Dark Souls is genuinely one of the best games ever made and I will die on this hill. It's brutal yeah but like, in a fair way? You never feel cheated, you feel stupid, which is different lol. The world is insanely well connected and exploring it feels so good once it starts clicking in your head. Bosses will destroy you. Like, dozens of attempts, no shame. But when you finally get it?? Nothing hits like that. Combat is slower than the sequels but honestly that just makes it more satisfying — every enemy plays by the same rules as you so fights feel like a proper mind game rather than just mashing buttons. And the bonfire system is lowkey genius, always makes you wanna push just a liiittle further than you should. Just play it.
Elden Ring was my first ever Fromsoft game, and I LOVE IT! It immediately became my favorite game and as of writing this I have over 350 hours on it. I figured if I loved the game so much, I'd go back to where the series started (Demon Souls doesn't exist) and I adore this game. The two keep their fundamental gameplay mechanics the same, but the world building is so different. I love the looping aspect of this game so much and I think it handles fast travel better than any other game I've played. This was a super awesome experience, and now that I've 100%ed the game, I'm excited to move onto Dark Souls II
Perfect for masochists like me, i recommend, you will cry while playing the game because it's peak and challenging, for the first 30 hours on this game i didn't know how to run nor jump, and that's because i played the game with keyboard, and i loved it.
