Darkest Dungeon is a roguelike role-playing video game developed and published by Red Hook Studios. The game was first released for Microsoft Windows and OS X in January 2016, which followed a year-long early access development period. Later that year, it was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Linux, with a port for iOS being released in 2017, and ports for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One being released by 2018.

Runs well on modern hardware.

An absolute masterpiece. Ignore the comments saying that the game is too hard or too RNG based, they are nonsense. The game is the definition of "easy to learn, hard to master". Your main enemy is lack of information and lack or preparation. When you go into a dungeon without knowing what you're going to encounter, what are the appropiate curios interactions, what's the boss mechanic, etc, you'll get recked. But that's the thing, it's not knowing what you're dealing with what constitutes most of the difficulty of the game. Once you master it, once you know what team is effective in what area, how to interact with the curios, what supplies you'll need of the mission, and so on, the game becomes incredibly manageble. There's A LOT that you can do to reduce RNG and increase your chances of success, it just takes some time to learn about them. But when you do, you'll realize this is one of the most interesting and fun games in the turn based genre. Art is peak, music is peak, gameplay is peak. Don't miss it. Remember it's easy to learn, hard to master, and go for it.
I always come back to this game for some reason. Darkest Dungeon 2 just doesn't compare to this masterpiece
10/10 My Highwayman hero has been missing for a few weeks now. My Vestal is not welcome at the brothel because of her deviant tastes. The Hellion lost her trinkets gambling at the tavern.
