100% Recommended. This is my first Perfect Game on Steam, it absolutely deserves it. if you love pixel art, the ocean, sea creatures, and Japanese food, this game is 100% worth buying. my detailed review i became completely obsessed with this game for the past two weeks. i have almost 100 hours and i enjoyed every single min i spent playing it, and by the end, had collected every fish, every figure, completed every mission, hired every employee, upgraded everything and experienced pretty much everything the game has to offer. The only content i haven’t played yet is the new Jungle DLC, which I’m planning to start very soon. Everything about this game is charming. i love the animations, the soundtrack, the pixel art style, the characters, the references, the sushi restaurant, and the huge variety of dishes you can make. one of my favorite details is that most of the fish are based on real species, which made collecting them even more enjoyable. The progression is incredibly satisfying. i loved upgrading everything: my weapons, diving equipment, employees, farms, crops, and pretty much every system in the game. There was always something new to work toward, which kept the gameplay fresh from beginning to end. This game also reminded me of one of my favorite childhood games, Hungry Shark Evolution. Exploring the ocean and discovering new creatures, fighting bosses gave me the same excitement i felt back then. i also really appreciate how the developers constantly introduce new mechanics and mini-games instead of letting the gameplay become repetitive. Even the little details are amazing. i love that the “pause” button is your phone, where you can listen to the soundtrack anytime, contact characters, and manage almost everything in one place. it shows how much care and creativity went into this game. As for the DLCs, I played the free Godzilla DLC, which i don’t really recommend. However, the other DLC “dredge” was absolutely incredible. i had been wishing for more variety in sea creatures, and that DLC gave me exactly what i wanted. i only have two small points that i think would make the game even better: * i wish the in-game camera took higher-quality pictures. Every photo i tried to take ended up looking disappointing, even when i thought i got the perfect shot. * i think each fish’s inventory size should better match its actual weight or size. Sometimes a tiny fish can weigh 6–8 kg and take up a lot of inventory space, which feels a little strange. Other than those small issues, this game is as close to perfect as I could ask for. my only real complaint is that i wish it were longer because i genuinely didn’t want it to end. Thank you to the developers for creating such a masterpiece. This is easily one of my favorite games of all time.
Dive Dive Dive!
DAVE THE DIVER is a peaceful and charming game... ... even though you can hunt the smallest of fish with grenade launchers, but perhaps that is just the charm of it. A simple diver exploring the ocean and running a sushi restaurant with his friends. The 8bit artstyle, simple gameplay that slowly evolves and a world that puts you in a soothing mood - is just something to die for! I highly recommend!
Simply one of my favorite games of all time, and I have neither the time nor the language to give it enough praise. It's amazing. If I had the money I would literally buy it for every gamer I know, for a game-life without dave the diver is a life half lived. Make sure you get all the DLC... the cost to value ratio of this game i absurd. I can only say I loved this game and will be back when there is more DLC.
