Detroit: Become Human is a 2018 adventure game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released for the PlayStation 4 in May 2018. Quantic Dream released a port for Windows under license from Sony in December 2019. The plot follows three androids: Kara, who escapes her owner to explore her newfound sentience and protect a young girl; Connor, whose job is to hunt down sentient androids; and Markus, who starts out as a caretaker for an elderly man but later devotes himself to releasing other androids from servitude. The player's choices affect the course and outcome of the story.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Detroit: Become Human hit me way harder than I expected. Not because of the choices alone, but because of how human the entire journey feels. The characters: Connor, Kara, Markus — each carry a completely different perspective, and together they create one of the strongest narrative experiences I’ve played in years. Im sorry i played this game so late, dont hate me! Better late than never i guess? :) The writing shines most in the quiet moments: Kara protecting a child that’s not hers. Markus trying to lead a cause that feels impossible. Connor slowly learning what “choice” even means. Every storyline feels meaningful, and every decision feels like something you’ll think about long after the credits roll. The worldbuilding is incredibly immersive. The mix of cold futurism, social tension, and small everyday details makes Detroit feel uncomfortably real, like a future we could actually end up in. And the actors absolutely carry the game; the performances are genuinely outstanding. What I appreciate most is how the game respects your decisions. Nothing feels random, every choice branches into something that matters, even if the result is pain, loss, or a victory you barely earned. And yes, sometimes I stared at the flowchart like “…did I really just cause THAT?” The soundtrack, visuals, and pacing all support the emotional weight of the story. It’s not just a game, it’s a reflection on empathy, freedom, and what makes a person a person. In short: A beautiful, emotionally heavy, branching story with incredible characters. In a powerful way — and definitely something I’ll remember for a long time.
Multiple perspectives, amazing stories and great gameplay experience. Your very first playthrough is going to be the most important one because it will be the one that will tell more about yourself than anything else you've possibly experienced. Hands down the best game I've ever played so far.
