I finished it for the first time, so there’s no nostalgia talk here. Now I understand why people talk about it with such high regard, this might be the best game ever made. It’s old as hell, but the topics it discusses are extremely relevant, because we’re living in the dystopian future imagined in the late 90s
Blonde JC Denton could go to Agartha 🥫 🔵 👱 Amazing Story, the most interesting philosophical video game story ever. This game's story is less about characters and more about a very interesting plot. Wouldn't recommend this game if you're impatient with old and janky games but, Pros: Great stealth levels, choices matter, multiple tools, great upgrade paths, exploration & conversations. Cons: AI is dogsh.t but it's an old game. You also need a couple of mods to get this game running properly. The balancing is decent but off in some areas. Voice acting is also ass with the Chinese characters. You will find better stealth & gunplay but the story is what makes this game so great. I'd recommend this game if the story in particular is interesting to you, which it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKSo23fy-wM&t=26s
all things aside this is a game that starts up (immediately), and gives you all options with one hit of the esc key. the logos, devs, publishers, producers, moviemaking software logos, canteen companies that normally fade in and out over 1-20 min as a game begins are instead floating around in the background, and will not impede your access of its media like companies today there are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games that can have the menu up and all options accessible in under 10 sec of clicking the executable. mankind revolution has ads, actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ads, (AND ADS THAT ARE NOW DISFUNCTIONAL) and when you reload your game it reminds you of what you're doing, because they (devs?) suspect you didn't retain things like you wouldve with this
