Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a 2011 action role-playing game developed by Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix's European branch for Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in August 2011. A version for OS X was released in April 2012, and a "director's cut" version was released in October 2013 for the original platforms and Wii U. The third installment in the Deus Ex series, the gameplay combines first-person shooter, stealth, and role-playing elements. It features exploration and combat in environments connected to multiple city-based hubs, in addition to quests that grant experience and allow customization of the main character's abilities with items called Praxis Kits. Conversations between characters feature a variety of responses, with options in conversations and at crucial story points affecting how some events play out.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Childhood classic. No lethal gun needed but a pistol for walls.
This is a phenomenal game. Polished, open, interconnected and free. The themes, characters, music and gameplay are perfect and it made me fall in love with the franchise. It's worth it, especially on sale.
Human Revolution is a miracle, in a sense that it's one of the few astronomically small number of "legacy sequels", made by entirely different dev team than originals, that is actually great. Immensely atmospheric game - and a big part of it is Michael McCanns soundtack, that captures perfectly autumnal Detroit vibes, wonderment of futuristic tech and dark cyberpunk undertones. Same with artstyle which is absolutely gorgeous - from the world itself to the clothes that characters wear (which were designed by the real world closing studio). I'm one of 3 people who actually liked the "gold" filter, and think it adds to the mood of the game, removing it from Direcor's Cut was a mistake. But thankfully there's a mod to restore it.
