Disco Elysium is a 2019 role-playing video game developed and published by ZA/UM. The game was written and designed by a team led by Estonian novelist Robert Kurvitz and executive producer Kaur Kender, featuring an art style based on oil-painting and music by the English band Sea Power. The game was released for Windows in October 2019 and macOS in April 2020. An expanded version of the game featuring full voice acting and new content, subtitled The Final Cut, was released for consoles in 2021 alongside a free update for the PC versions. In August 2025, the game was ported for Android.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Don't get me wrong, this is one of my favorite games of all time. I quite enjoy when games obfuscate goals and force you to just, play it. but pirate this one and dont give money to the rat bastards who own the IP
The best book I've ever played, fundamentally changed who I am as a person. Who needs real world politics, I am Kras Mazov and I will bring Mazovian socio-economics to the real world and build 0.00% of communism
This is a Masterpiece! It's art in the best sense: entertaining you with a gripping story and interesting characters, humour and sincerity, hope and hopelessness in an unknown world much like ours - while inviting you to take a stance on a number of social isues, cultural issues, philosophical issues. Making you think, making you laugh, making you feel. I didn't know what to expect when I started the game, stumbled into it blindly and was instantly sucked in. (Guess I was living under a rock - now I realize it's a pretty well known game. So maybe, when you're going in expecting something grande, it won't have the same effect on you of course. But I think it will still be really good.) The writing, the voice acting, the graphic style that fits so well in a kinda post-apocalyptic setting - everything is just so well done! Sometimes the political and geographical world-building was a bit much for me. Even though I admired the creativity, I found myself impatiently clicking faster through some topics because I wanted the story to go on. Of course there is no need to go through all dialogue options, but often it will give you experience points you can use to level up your skills. And sometimes something interesting might pop up - so I clicked through everything available to me even if I was already about to loose patience and wanted to move on. So ultimately I did this to myself and can't really complain. It also still contributed to that world feeling more complete and real. Honestly I just love this game, go and give it a try!
