Doki Doki Literature Club! is a 2017 visual novel video game developed by Team Salvato for personal computers and mobile phones. The story follows a student who reluctantly joins his high school's literature club at the insistence of his friend Sayori, and is given the option to romantically pursue her, Yuri, or Natsuki. Club president Monika also features heavily in the game's plot. The game features a non-traditional plot structure with multiple endings and unlockable cutscenes with each of the main characters. Although it initially appears to be a light-hearted dating simulator, it is a metafictional psychological horror game that extensively breaks the fourth wall.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Doki Doki Literature Club! is not just a regular visual novel; it is a total game-changer that completely rewrites the rules of storytelling, and I am entirely, unapologetically, and universally obsessed with it. It hides behind a cute, colorful exterior, but underneath is a masterpiece of psychological depth and brilliant design. The game takes standard romance tropes and transforms them into an unforgettable artistic experience that completely grips you from start to finish, to the point where it has practically taken over my entire life, my mind, my soul, and my entire daily routine. I do not just play this game; I breathe it, I live it, and I let it consume every single waking second of my existence on this planet.I absolutely love how the characters are written with an incredible amount of detail. I found myself genuinely caring about what happens to them. I adore these characters so much that they honestly feel more real to me than actual people sometimes, and I would gladly cross dimensions and protect them at all costs. My loyalty to this literature club is completely infinite and unshakable. On top of that, the hidden lore in this game is absolutely massive, and exploring it has been an amazing experience. It is packed with secrets, subtle (or not so) clues, and hidden messages that reward you for paying close attention. This turns the game into a massive puzzle that keeps me thinking about it long after playing. Every single poem and line of dialogue feels like it was placed with absolute purpose, and I have spent countless late nights staring at the screen trying to unwrap every single layer of this universe, taking notes, and letting my brain completely melt over the genius of this world-building.What makes this game truly revolutionary is how it uses the actual mechanics of a video game to tell its story. It plays with expectations in ways that no other medium can copy. It is a stunning achievement in modern gaming, and it is easily one of my favorite games of all time. To be completely honest, this game has basically become the definitive meaning of life for me, the center of my universe, and the ultimate peak of human creation. I don't think any other piece of media will ever top the absolute perfection of this masterpiece, and I will gladly scream my love for this game into the void until the end of time itself.
Damn that game really was a good super normal dating SIM :D Recommend it, I promise you will never forget that one ... game !
I expected a normal visual novel and got something completely different. The game is good at making you comfortable before it starts messing with you. Most horror games try too hard to scare you. This one just lets things feel wrong until you can't ignore it anymore. I respect how committed it is to the idea.
