Doki Doki Literature Club! is a 2017 visual novel video game developed by Team Salvato for personal computers and mobile phones. The story follows a student who reluctantly joins his high school's literature club at the insistence of his friend Sayori, and is given the option to romantically pursue her, Yuri, or Natsuki. Club president Monika also features heavily in the game's plot. The game features a non-traditional plot structure with multiple endings and unlockable cutscenes with each of the main characters. Although it initially appears to be a light-hearted dating simulator, it is a metafictional psychological horror game that extensively breaks the fourth wall.

Runs well on modern hardware.
The Game that Saved My Life, Remastered:
When I first played the original game, I was not in a good mental state. I was broke, hurting from my army life, was being neglected by my family and my friends, and had NO ONE to be there for me... I decided that this game that was free would be my final game I would ever play. It was with a bunch of cute girls, and having only played one VN before it, I was genuinely curious about this style of game as well as just, well, the style was for me. I decided that I would play... Little did I know, that this "cute" game would not only break me mentally, but also, give me the most intense ride I ever experienced til that point. DDLC did not hold back, and I was shocked at how much I saw myself in the game, especially from our favorite Cinnamon Bun, Sayori. I... I was in awe, and wanted to see it all, unintentionally, I got the GOOD ending first try, as I wanted to see all three paths and I like having everything up to what I assumed was the last act, so I could enjoy my hard work for. Little did I know, that doing the paths of the game not only gave me one of the most heartfelt scenes in gaming, but also one of the most endearing send-offs I ever saw, Each girl had their own issue, and had their own reason you felt like you should be there for them, and support, relationship or not. I will not do a huge deep dive here (as this WILL be long), but I will say Natsuki, Yuri, Sayori, and of course, Monika, all have something that I found relatable...And... I found myself, being healed. Until, the end of ACT ONE. That infamous scene, is NOT a meme for any good reason. We are awful to make it one. That scene, was going to be my same fate... I was on that same path... And.. it broke me.. THEN I wanted to SAVE her.. I wanted to save Sayori.. And Couldn't... I could not save her.. As ACT TWO happened, and my heart shattered even more as Natsuki and Yuri's stories came out...and the stuff hidden that I did not see. Trying to save Natsuki, ended badly, and trying to save Yuri, was even worse... Monika... Just. Monika.... Monika's act, was so serene... I, I was in awe of her, but also so, angry at her. She made my girl end herself and made the other two get deleted... I, I was so angry.. Then, sympathetic to her. She was programed to NEVER have her happy ending, never have her forever after, or even a chance of being "The One"... Does NOT Excuse what she did, but I understand her. Then.. her act ends as it did.. A bittersweet goodbye, to us... SAYORI CAME BACK... and as I said earlier, unintentionally, blind, I got the GOOD ending as I was being THERE FOR them all. And, I was thanked... I was THANKED... this game, nay, this experience, reminded me its okay to not be okay, and to seek help, that being there for others, is good, and sometimes, the clouds will be rainy, but, they come with a rainbow... This premium version of the game also gave us short stories and so much lore that made me realize just how much I do have in common with these four, and, how much I needed this game to help me see the right way to come back... This game is a masterpiece, and I will never deny it ever. 10/10 experience, 10/10 story, 10/10 side content. 10/10 Monika.... I, I love DDLC. It is my favorite game on PC ever, and I will forever praise it.
Even 7 years after I first played the original DDLC for the first time, it still hit me just as hard as back then. This game is just unforgettable. And I gotta say I absolutely loved the Side Stories this version added, they help humanize the characters and keeps them from being so two-dimensional in terms of personality like in the base story, which was a gripe I had with the original game, so I'm thankful its' addressed in this version. Sayori is still my favourite tho..
this game made me cry 3 times. 10/10, would recommend. such a good game with amazing characters.
