Rip and tear. Until it is done. DOOM Eternal feels like finding a bowl of your favorite candy that has been laced with pure human adrenaline. The pace feels great, the controls feel smooth and responsive, and the game-play loop is so very satisfying when it finally clicked in my ADHD riddled mind. It felt strange at first but before long I was jumping around arenas, juggling weapons and abilities and mowing down an onslaught of demons that use everything they have to bring me down. Managing rescores by using certain attacks feels amazing and constantly awards you with hits of dopamine. Need ammo? Chainsaw time. Need health? glory kill away. Then setting some demons on fire so they drop armor and on top of that each demon has a weakness to exploit when you aren't trying to regain lost health or ammo. It just plain feels good. The story is pretty good too, though purposely campy, placing a greater emphasis on the series' lore than previous entries, exploring the Slayer's origins and the mythology surrounding his endless hatred for the demons, while maintaining the fast-paced action that define the franchise.
fast, lotta gore, and a lot of fun
DOOM Eternal is like classic doom but faster and with more violence If you at all like boomer shooters, movement shooters, or good old fasioned brutality DOOM Eternal is a must have
