This game will absolutely scratch that itch for a tactical CQB. It is a top view game. It will really test your knowledge when it comes down to planning and it is very addicting, so crack open a cold one or spark up (solo or with a friend online) and enjoy this masterpiece of a game. They also have a mobile version of this but it won't beat the pc version. 10/10 for dang sure. can't wait for a third one
I spent half the mission drawing the perfect tactical plan like some elite military genius, then watched my squad breach the wrong way and turn professionalism into indoor fireworks. Every door is a question, and my answer is usually “grenade first, regrets later.” Somehow, it is brilliant!
Overall great game. It manages to stay fun and engaging despite its very repetitive nature. Some enemy variation and a little more narrative elements would go a long way on this one. The campaigns are great but feel like more missions just scattered on a random map. Still, the game loop and mechanics are quite solid and fun. It also manages to scratch my X-com itch a little bit, and that's always a win for me.
