Why no one told me the Xenoverse games are this good? I had a blast with this one, super fun, plays like nostalgic DBZ games, the story and music are good, some scenes made me laugh, others made me feel so hyped and excited, the only flaw is how hard this game is in some battles
With Xenoverse 3 on the horizon i figured i'd go back and play them all. and when i went back to this game i wondered why there were so many paralel quests straight up never done, and as i played more and more i remembered why. but let's start with the positives. the story is honestly good, it's taking "what if" scenarios to the max, this is a retelling of most arcs but there's fun changes that unfold during the arc, and it's great, there's fully voiced scenes, there's even animation on par with the anime and they all add to a high quality experience, the first time you boot this game up you're gonna get so hyped it's insane ! and then you have to play the game... this game is HARD, and it's not that you need incredible reflexes or complete complex battles, but it's hard in the same way that finding yourself in a dark alley is and suddenly you're surrounded by 12 thugs that you need to fight off is hard. enemies don't care if you're fighting someone else, they will backstab you, interrupt you, combo you, all while you are struggling to lock onto the guy that just slobber knockered you into a wall and they will not stop, meanwhile YOUR allies feel a little shy about fighting and would rather use basic ki blasts and sidestep untill their enemies get bored and go after you as well. secondly, many enemies that are powerful have hyper armor, so no grabbing, no hitting without endangering yourself of getting hit, no guard breaking, i used strike moves and boy what a mistake that was, i did no damage because apparently how WIDE you are also dictates how much damage you do with strike moves. i played a namekian so the only power boost i got was kioken, speaking of which, there's only 2 transformation skills in the game, kioken and supersaiyan, i was a namekian so my basic attack was awkward and kept missing so i had to confirm if the second hit of my combo hit correctly otherwise i have to reset and get another hit in to start a combo. strike attacks OFTEN don't hit, i like the concept of being a martial artist in dragonball, but there is VERY few good and satisfying strike moves that can be combo'd with a basic attack confirm, doing them raw often results in a block and punish by the CPU. funny enough i think meteor crash is the best strike move in the game and you start with it. you can get moves from either leveling up masters and becoming their pupils, or doing paralel quests which are like side missions, and the items each one drops is random, everytime you kill a character in one such quests they have a chance to drop something from the loot table, but the funny thing is, it's a completely random chance and the odds are not high, i have done a certain quest 45 times and i still did not get the desired reward, at which point i simply quit doing them. resulting in half the paralel quests never being completed, and i do not desire to. So overall, i think it's worth playing if you can get it for 10 bucks, play a saiyan, build your character to go ki attacks and have fun with the story. other then that i would not recommend doing extra content if not for the story, because it's far too frustrating, and with Xenoverse 2 out and COMPLETED, i'd rather play that.
i like the game but when i get super sayan i didn't have option to add super sayan i think game have a bug what should i do
