Emily Is Away Too is a 2017 indie visual novel by Kyle Seeley. It is the spiritual successor to the 2015 video game Emily Is Away. The game is primarily set in an instant messaging chat client, taking place during the protagonist's last year of high school during the 2006–07 school year. The player talks to other characters by selecting different responses, and specific choices change the course of the plot throughout the game. In addition to using the chat log, the player also visits parody websites such as YouToob and Facenook, all of which display their 2006/2007 layouts.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Far better than the first game, and a completely different tone in my particular instance. Glad I could secure the best together-forever ending with Evi <3 Evi has a highly exceptional taste in music lol
I love how this game perfectly encapsulates the feeling of being in school, trying to be there for people and the simple fact that your words carry weight. The conversational, 2000s era emoticons and terminology makes the characters come to life. Although it's a short game, it's a beautiful story of how relationships with people around you can evolve and the length is undoubtedly matched by the price. Not only is the story heartfelt and fulfilling, it has a sense of sincerity to it that most games don't give you. The branching pathways and juggling conversations is just a bonus to experience such a genuine, emotional narrative that turns back the clock literally and figuratively to when you were in school. Emily Is Away Too perfectly translates the feeling of messaging your friends online, when the people in your life was the only thing you thought about. This game made me glad when I made a character happy, and panic when I inadvertently upset someone. I have genuinely never considered video game characters to be as human as they are in this delightful game. Every message carries minute typos and errors, quickly corrected, as though you are truly typing every word, as though each sentence was written in the moment, not pre-planned or scripted. To summarise, THIS IS A GREAT GAME!! It is an insanely immersive text based (ignore the pun) adventure that has, without a doubt, left a lasting impression on me (as shown by the fact I'm writing a review). Emily Is Away Too is a time machine that filled me with feelings I never thought I'd return to and I'm certainly going to be playing all other entries in the series!! 10/10
This will make you feel feelings I cannot at the moment describe.
