Epistory - Typing Chronicles is a 2016 action-adventure, typing video game developed by Fishing Cactus. The game was released on Steam Early Access in September 2015 and was officially released on March 30, 2016, for Linux, Microsoft Windows, and OS X, and on February 2, 2021 for Stadia. In the game, a young girl rides a fox with three tails. The game's story follows a writer's writing process, which unfolds like paper on-screen and is narrated from the perspective of the writer's internal thoughts. The game later received a spiritual sequel, Nanotale - Typing Chronicles.

Runs well on modern hardware.

My girlfriend really enjoy playing this game so much and I think this game gonna be one of the game that she finish. The gameplay is simple and easy to understand even for children to practice their typing. The art is good and the music also relaxing. It also has a little bit of puzzle too which make it more challenging. All seems perfect for me, the voice actor and the story is good. I just don't know why the developer can't make another good game like this. If you manage to find this game on discount just buy it, you won't regret it
There's nothing scarier than having to type a word that's not only ridiculously long, but one you can't even pronounce. If I had to sum up what I learned from this game in a single sentence, that would be it. But seriously, Epistory managed to surprise me on more than one occasion. I didn't expect much going in, mainly because I'm not usually a fan of typing games. However, it was far more than a simple typing game. Instead of basic 2D visuals, Epistory presents a beautiful 3D papercraft world that you explore while riding a giant fox. Combat revolves around typing words to defeat enemies, making every encounter surprisingly engaging. As you progress, you'll unlock four unique spells: Spark, Fire, Ice and Wind. They don't just help you deal with specific enemies more efficiently, they're also used to uncover new paths and gradually open up the world around you. The game even features light puzzle-solving, which was another pleasant surprise. They're never overly difficult, but they add a nice bit of variety to the adventure. The story is fully voiced as well, which is always appreciated in an indie title. On top of that, there's a skill tree where you can upgrade your exploration, movement and combat abilities. As a fun little touch, you don't simply click on the upgrades, you unlock them by typing out their names. And if you're still craving more after finishing the main story, there's an Arena mode where you can test your typing speed against endless waves of enemies and compete for a place on the global leaderboards. If you're already a fan of typing games, there's a good chance you'll enjoy Epistory. And even if you're not, I'd still recommend giving it a try. It's much more than just a typing game.
It's super fun. You practice typing and at the same time defeating grizzly monsters. The element mechanic adds a twist that isn't easy to master.
