Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my VR gameplay & commentary here: https://youtu.be/qbAGR9LcYB0 IF you enjoyed the VR support in the original Escape Simulator, then this is an easy recommendation. The VR Open Beta just started, but the VR support feels almost like an officially supported VR title. I didn't find any serious issues whatsoever. Escape Simulator 2 is an improvement on the first title in almost every way. The biggest improvement is the visuals. The game looks so much better now IMO. The themed locations look great in VR. The game also runs at a pretty steady 90 fps on my RTX 5090. You have full locomotion, along with smooth or snap turning. Most of the interactions are point & click, so it's definitely not a VR first or VR only title. However, you can interact with many objects and mostly just break stuff. You can play comfortably seated as well. The only issue I noticed was when I backed into a tree (in-game) and got a black screen. However, simply moving out fixed the issue. Rate ?/10. Easy recommend, thinking anywhere from 7/8 rating.
I bought this game! Fun in coop with 2-3 people. It took us ~13h to finish all the rooms currently in the game and they were all fun. (plus some of the dark riddles). Start with the first game though if you havent played it, it has a lot of content by now and all DLCs are worth. Update: The custom rooms are nice too and add some content to the game, they are not as polished since they are usermade but we had fun! adds a couple of hours of playtime!
This is a much better video game than the original Escape Simulator - the textures are exquisite and the locations are beautifully designed. The interface feels a bit easier, too. That said, the original felt more like being in an escape room. Escape Simulator 2's rooms are much bigger, which makes it feel more like a puzzle video game than an actual escape room. It's still an amazing game, but you might get a different vibe than the original. You should buy both. For science.
