F1 2019 is the official video game of the 2019 Formula One and Formula 2 Championships developed and published by Codemasters. It is the twelfth title in the Formula One series developed by the studio. The game is the eleventh main series installment of the franchise, and it features all twenty-one circuits, twenty drivers and ten teams present in the 2019 Formula One World Championship. Codemasters said that the game was in development for nearly two years, and described it as "the most ambitious release in the franchise's history". This game is dedicated to Tony Porter, Niki Lauda, Charlie Whiting, and Anthoine Hubert.

Runs well on modern hardware.

This game got me into watching motorsports. I now find myself reading F1 news, watching previous races, buying merch, etc. I am now an F1 addict thanks to this game. It only took racing around the first track in Melbourne for about an hour and I was hooked.
Ah, F1 2019, what a pleasant surprise you brought me.
My father was always a huge fan of Formula 1. Like many others, he was a huge fan of Ayrton Senna, and still can recount the day of that unfortunate tragedy like it had happened today. I, ever since I was little, never understood why exactly this sport was so beloved by many people around the world. "It's just some boring cars racing on a danger-free track. There isn't even any traffic!" My 13 year old me thought, already addicted to Need for Speed, and using it as a comparison. I never really got why my father sounded so excited when he'd try to bring up conversation about it, until he stopped trying to get me into it. He was super into Ferrari as well. That was until last year. I don't know what GP it was, but I caught it on television. Internet was down, I wasn't feeling like playing anything, so I thought "Oh, what the hell. I'll just leave it on. It's not like there's anything good on any other channels anyway". Blah-blah-blah, talking about drivers and grid, yatta-yatta. I almost turned off the TV, and boy, am i glad I didn't. Now 24-year-old me already understood that racing like NFS and F&F is both impossible and stupid, but I was seeing cars taking actual turns in the actual real world over 200 kph. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire race. Halmilton won, even though his start wasn't really the best. I didn't even know Mercedes had a F1 team until that race. So i start looking for information on the sport. Learn a lot, and then see that, not long ago, Raycevick published a video on an F1 game. I watch it, and I'm sold. I didn't have a lot of money saved, btu as soon as that sale came by I bought it I have over 40 hours on it now, i know a lot more about F1 due to the simulated enviroment and it's MUCH more fun than any other racing game i've ever tried. Seriously. NFS, even with all the police chases and flashy cars, pales in comparison to the excitement of an F1 game. No racing game ever made me feel this much in control, but also, this much closer to crashing and putting everything on the line. Every action has a consequence. Reckless driving not only will be less optimal, but it also may take you out of the race entirely. There is no room for error. There is no room for breathing. There is only you, your car, the track, and 20-something other people that will fight you tooth-and-nail for that podium. This game also made it possible for me to reconnect with my father in a sport-loving kind of way. I never really enjoyed soccer or any other sports like it, such as basketball, baseball, etc, but F1 made me go on and on about how different the 2021 season will be due to the rule and design changes. 9/10 - For gameplay and consistency. Well done, Codemasters. A few things that need to be ironed out, but nevertheless 1000/10 - For helping me reconnect with my father, especially now, during a pandemic, these bonds are really important. Thank you.
just over an hour played, so initial impressions. so far so good, AI can be very tough, ive had to drop difficulty between 5-10 points over 2017 (i skipped 18), even with that drop they really fight you on track (im playing difficulty 89, previously i could race 100), especially rivals, the wheel to wheel action feels intense, the AI knows when your approaching and makes the move to close off the gap and if you try to force your way into the gap they steadily squeeze you so you need to back out, such a great feeling on track, the tyres wear nicely and grain as you would expect, cars feel very weighty, they corner like crazy as has always been the case but theres a hint of understeer with standard car setup, i have all assists off except i use medium traction and abs, the curbs are veeery slippy, sometimes frustratingly so but it kind of should be. very impressed so far, they have made some really nice changes to make the game simply a step better everytime, sound has improved, graphics are really nice (except they use TAA again and i hate TAA in racing games, too soft but without it its rough), the detail in the game is really nicely improved, more particles on impacts, nicer grass textures sticking to your tyres if you slow to have a look, tyre marks seem to persist, even grass deformation i noticed. see a few complaints saying its very similar to 18 but its never going to be a completely new experience, codies are absolute top tier for racing games and they know what f1 fans want from an f1 game, and they are refining it to a tee. will update review as i spend more time with it, but so far, excellent job. EDIT: ok 9 hours in, everything is going fine, have not had any crashes at all, no bugs to speak of right now.... nothing really negative to note, i thought i would get bored of the press chats and stuff but it plays a bigger role this time round, your answers influence how the team see's you, do you praise the teams efforts or take all the credit for yourself, do you highlight the hard work of certain aspects of the engineering team for thier efforts or just put it all down to your own class, every answer seems to have an effect on the team, but how this will play out over the season im yet to see, will it boost the teams confidence and speed to bring upgrades and improvements i dont know, but ill find out. i also really like how upgrades are not a guarantee success, the upgrade tree is not a ''put this on the car'', its more like ''guys can you get this on the car'' to which it could happen or might fail. EDIT 2: 16 hours played, seen a couple of minor issues, 1 is my race engineer would often recommend a new plan, but that plan is to have zero pit stops until the end, this is obviously incorrect, soon after he would then recommend another plan to infact do a stop or 2, so a small bug there. also the AI as great as it is, and im continuously impressed, does slow down a lot in the wet, more so than i think it should, when i can only manage a midfield finish in the dry i can most likely finish top 3 in the wet. so yes, some tuning required there. im around 6 races in i think in career, some tracks are more mindblowing than others, at times the visuals look amazing especially when theres 3 or 4 cars in front of you and not only are sparks flying but dust is kicked up off the cars in front, something that really struck me that ive never seen done before or anywhere near as well and thats when clouds block the sun the track goes darker and then brighter again as the clouds pass, such a small thing but it really hit me when it happened, i was like ive never seen that before. its visually excellent, plays really damn well, and runs amazing, ive not even touched online yet.... because people can be unpredictable and i imagine its a crash fest so.... ill stick to ACC for online racing where its taken more seriously. Hope my review paints a good picture of what to expect, nothing is perfect but a great racing game is a great racing game, here is another one. i should point out i am playing on a high end pc, 2080ti, 8700k, 32gb ram, ssd. your performance will obviously vary but it seems to run very well, smooth and stutter free.
