Fable is an action role-playing video game, the first in the Fable series. It was developed for the Xbox, Windows, and macOS platforms by Big Blue Box Studios, a satellite developer of Lionhead Studios, and was published by Microsoft Studios. The game shipped for the Xbox in September 2004. An extended version of the game, Fable: The Lost Chapters, was released for the Xbox and Windows in September 2005. A port of the game for macOS, created by Robosoft Technologies and published by Feral Interactive, was released in March 2008 after a delay of more than two years due to licensing issues.

Runs well on modern hardware.

I may have the nostalgia goggles on, but for me Fable was the best game a kid could ask for, I enjoyed it a lot as a kid. The ambience, voice acting, the soundtrack, it all added to the magic of being in this world, Albion. Graphics are still nice to look at today. Nothing fancy, but they remain functional and don't set you off. Just like any good game in its genre, Fable allows you to create your own custom character. Maybe you'll be an archer with support spells, or a wizard, a spellsword, or a tank with support spells and a big ass weapon? Get tattoos, crazy hairstyle and unique armor/clothing combination. Buy a house and get married, find books and donate them to a school. Albeit, I can't be bothered with that stuff anymore, because I played this game ALOT since 2004, but for a new player without heightened expectations this all might just be up their alley. I only hope that the new Fable game will be a great experience to a new generation of kids, just as the first Fable was for us.
One of my favorite games of all time. I still remember the first time I ever witnessed Fable's gameplay. I was over at my childhood friends house and his older brother was on his PC and free roaming in the forest killing bandits. He called us over and showed us some gameplay of him cutting off the bandits heads and kicking them around. I remember after seeing this, I begged my mother to get the game for me and eventually she did. The story is fantastic, the combat is solid, The world and character designs are iconic. If you never had the chance to experience this, I'm telling you right now go and buy it and I promise you will not regret it.
!!! WARNING !!! The way you have to save this game sucks. It has 2 different saves a Hero Save and A World Save. Once you get the hang of it though it is not so bad. I just want to warn you because I have never seen a game save the way this game saves. I wish this game would save like all the other games and just save at the exact moment and exact spot where you saved but if you don't save it the right way in this game you could lose progress in the game or items you got in the game. You will understand what I am saying if you ever buy the game. I give this game a positive recommend but the save system SUCKS in this game IMO.
