Final Fantasy IX is a 2000 role-playing video game developed and published by Square for the PlayStation video game console. It is the ninth game in the main Final Fantasy series. The plot focuses on a war between nations in a medieval fantasy world called Gaia. Players follow a thief named Zidane Tribal who kidnaps princess Garnet Til Alexandros XVII as part of a ploy by the neighboring nation of Lindblum. He joins Garnet and a growing cast of characters on a quest to take down her mother, Queen Brahne of Alexandria, who started the war.

[h3]The PS1's best Final Fantasy.[/h3] I've always adored Final Fantasy IX. Much more so than VII, and definitely VIII. I'm not sure how many times I've completed this game, but it's been a lot, and I still love it to bits! That's not to say FFIX is without its faults though. The game has aged quite a bit. Its UI can be cumbersome to navigate. The second half of its third act sees a huge difficulty spike. And some of the story beats are a bit awkward or nonsensical. But the game has a ton of heart and such endearing characters that it easily makes up for all the little nitpicks I have with it. This was my first time playing Final Fantasy IX with the Moguri mod and I loved it! It makes the game look and play much better and I can't recommend it enough. [i]Rating: 9/10[/i]
The BEST Final Fantasy game that ever existed. There are also some pretty good mods here on Steam made by great people. Check out the mods that enchant the blurred backgrounds and put a CRT-filter on, and then you are good to go! :D
Final Fantasy IX was my first Final Fantasy, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the series (thanks to my wonderful boyfriend). I just finished the game, and I already feel that bittersweet emptiness you get when you say goodbye to a world you've grown so attached to. The story is absolutely wonderful. The characters are incredibly charming and memorable, and throughout the entire journey, I found myself becoming more and more attached to each of them (specially Vivi). The locations and landscapes are beautiful, and every place feels so carefully crafted and full of detail. And the music... simply gorgeous. It makes every moment feel even more special. There is so much love and care in this game, from the smallest details in the environments to the characters, their stories, and the world they live in, everything feels thoughtfully made. Final Fantasy IX made me laugh, made me cry, made me emotional, and most importantly, gave me memories that I know I'll treasure for a very long time. This game will forever have a special place in my heart. Thank you for the journey, Square Enix. ❤️
