Frostpunk is a 2018 city-building survival video game developed and published by 11 Bit Studios. Players take on the role of a leader in an alternate history set in the late 19th century, in which they must build and maintain a city during a worldwide mass cooling event, possibly caused by a volcanic winter. The player manages resources, makes choices on how to survive, and explores the area outside their city for survivors, resources, or other useful items. The game features several scenarios to undertake, each with its own stories and different challenges. The main campaign adopts a three-act structure, requiring players to grapple with internal conflict and societal turmoil in a divided city and survive a great storm that threatens to overwhelm the city, making sacrifices and morally grey ethical decisions along the way.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Frostpunk is a masterclass in tension. The music is hauntingly beautiful and it manages to make you feel completely overwhelmed while giving you just enough tools to pull off a miracle. It’s a game that asks, "What are we willing to become to survive?" Finding the answer is one of the most compelling journeys in modern gaming.
decently enjoyable, though i think it lacks a certain emotional depth i did find in their previous game This War of Mine. In its essence it's nothing more than a resource management game in a frosty winter jacket.
A beautiful and incredibly atmospheric city builder from a Polish studio. Frost, snow, hunger, and the constant feeling of impending doom create an amazing survival atmosphere. The game offers excellent audiovisual presentation, an interesting story, plenty of scenarios, and a well-developed city progression system that allows you to choose your own path. On top of that, it’s genuinely challenging, making every decision matter. A perfect game for players who enjoy difficult and engaging strategy games.
