Wow, just wow!
Damn, rarely ever do I encounter a piece of media just this good. I could go on and on and on about how much I enjoyed Gnosia's visual art, plotline, dialogues, and the characters' overall writing and mutual dynamics. This game has got to be one of the best visual novels ever published, at least that's my humble opinion :) That would be lovely if it were to have a sequel or some kind of spin-off, but in the meantime I'll be happy to watch the anime :shigemichignosia:
Amazing story and werewolf social deduction gameplay
I approached this game a week after finishing the anime, which was a truly wonderful experience and did a perfect job of pushing me to play the game itself. Gnosia is easily one of the best titles I’ve played in recent years. The mix of suspense and banter among the crew members is one of the highlights of the experience. The mechanics reveal themselves slowly, and at first, you feel a genuine sense of disorientation and frustration when you lose a debate and end up in cold sleep or get eliminated by the Gnosia. It’s a masterful build up; eventually you start stringing together your first victories, understanding the underlying mechanisms, acquiring Skills, and leveling up your Stats. You learn exactly when to keep quiet and let things slide, or when to push back against allies and enemies alike. I’m generally not a fan of the "time loop" as a narrative trope, but here it is handled with absolute mastery. When the story begins to open up and you discover more about the characters personal backgrounds, the universe, and the threat gripping the ship, you are already hooked. The characters are all magnificent each has their own strengths, weaknesses, and unique personality traits. Their behavior patterns are something you must learn to exploit or watch out for to avoid being overwhelmed by their tactics. The alliances they form with you or other crew members are definitely one of the elements that elevate Gnosia as a social deduction game and make you fall in love with the gameplay. A final note on Setsu, who accompanies us through every loop; the relationship that develops is the true meta narrative heart of the game. I genuinely felt a sense of loss once the game was over! I’m giving this game a 10/10 and I highly recommend it. My only advice is not to rush; you need to read, understand, and immerse yourself in the world and the crew's stories with the right amount of patience. A huge kudos to Petit Depotto for this masterpiece!
