Grand Theft Auto III is a 2001 action-adventure game developed by DMA Design and published by Rockstar Games. It was the first 3D game in the Grand Theft Auto series. Set in Liberty City, loosely based on New York City, the story follows Claude, a silent protagonist who becomes entangled in a world of crime, drugs, gang warfare and corruption. The game is played from a third-person perspective and its world is navigated on foot or by vehicle. Its open world design lets players freely roam Liberty City.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Silentpatch, widescreen fix. fps limiter off v sync on. game runs perfect.
Childhood classic which I completed on KB+M. Tried on EasySMX X20 gamepad this time. Had to enable G-Input mode + disable the steam controller. It was atrocious. I had to remap half of buttons. Aiming is extremely hard since there is no aim assist and sensitivity is insane. I don't know why I did this to myself, game is 20 times easier if you use KB+M. edit: ok, autoaim exists on PC if you turn on classic control scheme Anyways, tech. aside, game is awesome.
Just finished the game and GTA III was a whole new experience for me. Sometimes I said the game sucked, sometimes I said the game is a masterpiece...it's just what you call...first one of it's kind. I can see the resemblence of gta 1 and 2 because of Claude's personality but If you have patience you will be able to beat it. Some missions you have to have a tactic to finish it. You can have different ways to complete missions so that's a fun experience. I am going to finish every gta game ever and here is my date (07.08.2026) (9/10)
