The successor to the international award-winning racing simulation GTR accurately represents the challenges of Motorsport racing. The detailed, photo-realistic depiction of these powerful cars and beautiful circuits, thanks to the graphics technology, and the enhanced driving model will make your adrenaline rise in one of more than one hundred HP-beasts. Beginners can start with the driving school where they are taught the basics of race driving by a professional instructor. Thanks to dynamic day, night and weather changes and an impressive damage system, the races of the exciting FIA GT series become a thrilling gaming experience. Since the release of GTR2 in September 2006, the game has received widespread acclaim. GTR2 simulates the 2003 and 2004 FIA GT Championship racing series.

Runs well on modern hardware.
if you dont care about graphics, this is a great game. tragically, it takes a great deal of effort to get working properly. I. since this game released on steam after the porsche and ferrari licenses expired, you'll have to manually change the hexadecimal values in the game executable file to get that content back. i'm not going to leave the exact instructions here, but there are many tutorials online and on steam that show you what to do. i heavily recommend reading this --> https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1989373160 guide by GUGA510 for instructions on a bunch of stuff, including how to recover the porsche and ferrari content. this obviously isn't required, but it does bring back a few cool pieces of content. II. something that IS required is running the game, config, and sudo executables as administrator, while also running the game through compatibility mode with windows xp sp3. if you do not run the game as admin, you won't have access to the driving school within the game. you'll also need to do is put the following string in the launch properties of the game. this allows it to keep track of your playtime properly: (backslashes do not show in steam reviews, replace slashes with backslashes) "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/GTR 2 - FIA GT Racing Game/GTR2.exe" %command% III. the audio while driving will be ATROCIOUS and the game will run poorly if you do not set the cpu affinity yourself. to do this, you can open task manager (after starting the game), go to details tab, right click on game and set the affinity to cpus 0 and 1. this setting doesn't save, so you will have to do this every time the game starts. if you dont want to do that, you can download the free version of Process Lasso and set it to always do that. you could probably set the cpu affinity to all threads, but just using 2 seems to work fine for me. you have to get your hands quite dirty to make this game fully work, but i'd say that it's worth it.
A true classic! If you're looking for a well rounded racing sim, with good physics and decent graphics that focuses purely on driving experience,This is it! It still plays wonderfully and it aged like a fine wine 9/10!
