I went into Hades expecting a fun roguelike, but ended up getting addicted to “just one more run” for hours. The combat feels insanely smooth, every weapon has its own personality, and the progression never feels wasted even when you fail. What surprised me most was the story. Somehow this game makes dying over and over actually meaningful because the characters react to everything. Zagreus, the dialogue, the soundtrack, the art style — everything has so much charm. Even after escaping for the first time, the game still kept giving me reasons to continue. One of the few roguelikes that feels rewarding whether you win or lose. Supergiant really cooked with this one. Easily one of the best indie games I’ve played.
There's not much to talk about this. It's simply one of the best Roguelite games ever. Btw I thought Hades should be the protagonist, the same goes for Zelda :D. I have been wondering why did 2 those games have the name like this. May anyone explain to me :D
I went into Hades not really knowing what to expect, especially since this was my first roguelike but I ended up loving it way more than I thought I would. The first thing that stood out was the lore. It’s actually really interesting and keeps you hooked the more you play. It doesn’t feel forced either you naturally pick up bits of the story with each run, which made me want to keep going just to see what happens next. The music is another big highlight. It’s super catchy, and some of the songs are just on another level. They fit the vibe of the game perfectly and honestly made some moments way more memorable. Boss fights were also really well done. They’re challenging but not frustrating, and beating them actually feels rewarding. Since this was my first game in the genre, I thought I might struggle with the repetition, but it never really felt boring. I also really liked the environment and overall design of the game. Overall, I had a great time with it. Definitely didn’t expect to enjoy a roguelike this much, but Hades proved me wrong. Moving on to Hades II next, and I’m actually pretty excited about it.
