Half-Life is a 1998 first-person shooter game developed by Valve Corporation and published by Sierra Studios for Windows. It was Valve's debut product and the first game in the Half-Life series. The player assumes the role of Gordon Freeman, a theoretical physicist who must escape from the Black Mesa Research Facility after it is overrun by aliens following a disastrous scientific experiment. Its gameplay consists of diverse combat, exploration and puzzles.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Honestly the best game since ever. Who needs modern Graphics Anyways?
so.. My uncle had an affair with a waitress in our town, it went of for 7 months before word got out. my mom (his sister) saw the waitress and fainted. the waitress was the child she gave up for adoption💀 oh yea half life the game is good play it.
This game came out in 1998? WOW. Some games were infinitely better back then. Half-Life scales its skill level and enemy power levels very nicely. Whenever it introduces a new item or enemy, you need to figure out on your own how to use that item or the right tactic to defeat the enemy. You never get the sense that it's holding your hand, which makes the process all the more rewarding. Nowadays, I'm so used to many modern games doing the exact opposite which removes all the fun in the process. You have a lot of satisfying moments in this game for making it through more and more difficult levels. For example, when you reach the spot where you find an RPG for the first time, and start loading up your first RPG round, you hear a chopper coming up from behind you, and I laughed at such an iconic setup. Valve did a great job rewarding you with fun moments like that. On top of that, I enjoyed finding its many little secret supply rooms, it made the exploration really worth it. My experience could have benefitted with at least one less headcrab, but they're clearly there to annoy you! The side characters were hilarious and I wish I could have taken them all with me to the end to take down G-man.
