Hitman: Blood Money is a 2006 stealth video game developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidos Interactive. It was released in May 2006 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, Xbox and Xbox 360. It is the fourth installment in the Hitman video game series, and the sequel to 2004's Hitman: Contracts. The story follows cloned assassin Agent 47's efforts to bring down the Franchise, a rival contract killing organization that is threatening his employers, the International Contract Agency (ICA), and seeking to obtain the same cloning technology that created 47. Meanwhile, a frame story presents 47's life and various contracts he carried out, as narrated by a former FBI director to a journalist.

Runs well on modern hardware.
There is a Reason Good Game Design Doesn't Get Old
Hitman Blood Money is one of the greatest examples of why good game design is timeless. The game has amazing level variety. Each level has so much soul, and as you're learning each of them, you feel like the devs are watching you as you play through them. Meticulous level and sandbox design really is what IOI did best, and it shows. One of the special things Blood Money did even better than the other games is the notoriety system. It's not a huge part of the game, but it adds a meaningful layer that makes it worth going for higher ratings. I love it when games actually make going for higher ratings a core part of the experience. Depending on how you play, the way NPCs react to you changes drastically, even though it's relatively easy to get around the notoriety system by simply paying the required amount of money. Nevertheless, I just love it because the game actually acknowledges the fact that it does matter how good of a ranking you get in a mission, and the overall progression feels more personal. Overall, Blood Money is an incredible stealth sandbox with great humor, a relatively good story, and a lot of soul, something that is not very easily explained but only truly felt when playing and mastering the game.
Some games get old. Some games become classics. Hitman: Blood Money did both. Nearly two decades later, it still offers freedom, creativity, and that unique satisfaction of pulling off the perfect assassination. Every mission feels like a puzzle with dozens of solutions, and Agent 47 remains as iconic as ever. A timeless masterpiece that reminds you why stealth games became so popular in the first place.
A true cornerstone of my childhood. It might be a little difficult to go back to after the brilliance of the World of Assassination trilogy, but Blood Money still holds up very well. It's absolutely a product of its time, and I'm completely okay with that. The game oozes nostalgia, and you can see the foundation of everything Hitman would eventually become. This is the blueprint. Without Blood Money, there is no modern Hitman.
