Despite playing for so little time, this game takes up a huge space in my head. There's nothing quite like it.
I personally really loved Hyper Light Drifter! However I do have some cons along with my pros. First off, there's no text really, just images which I personally really like! The game allows you to come up with your own theories, but if that's something you don't like, this game probably isn't for you. My biggest negative with this game is that the combat can be really tricky and frustrating to figure out at first. Eventually though, I figured it out and wound up feeling super accomplished with myself! Another negative is it can be pretty hard figuring out where you're supposed to go sometimes and I did have to use a guide- but if you enjoy exploring games through and through, you may find that aspect fun! As many say, the soundtrack is very beautiful and comes in at really nice moments that makes you wonder what is going through Drifter's head at that moment- oh, and Drifter! I love the silent main character troupe, so if you dig that, you'll probably love Drifter as I did! The little victory pose he does after a hard fight really adds a charm to his character ^^ The ending truly did get me emotional too, it's not like many I've seen in games, and it leaves me thinking about this game even a few months after my first playthrough. I do recommend this game if you can figure out the map and combat systems lolol!
no option to turn off flashing lights. a lot of them in the intro and first playable screen. i am only mildly sensitive to flashing and literally cannot play this :p
