In Stars and Time is a 2023 role-playing video game developed by insertdisc5 and published by Armor Games Studios. The game takes place in the fictional country of Vaugarde, which is in the process of being frozen in time by a mysterious figure known as the King. The player controls Siffrin, a member of an adventuring party which hopes to defeat the King and save Vaugarde. Siffrin finds themself trapped in a time loop, which the player can manipulate to solve problems. The game features a turn-based combat system which is based on a rock paper scissors formula. It was based on a set of webcomics made by the developer in 2018 and short prologue in 2020 as a prototype for the final game. In Stars and Time was released in 2023 for Windows and several consoles. Critics were generally positive towards the game, praising the characters and narrative, though some took issue with the looping gameplay. Following release, it received honorable mentions for the Nuovo Award and Seumas McNally Grand Prize at the 2024 Independent Games Festival.

Runs well on modern hardware.

a psychological horror time loop game that actually manages to be annoying in the right ways for the story it's trying to tell.
Really wanna like this game, the story is awesome and all, but i can't when my saves corrupt six hours into the story, forcing me to CRAWL my way back to where i was.
Playing this game was an experience I will never forget! :D The art and music draws you in, but the comradery between Isabeau, Odile, Mirabelle, Bonnie, and Siffrin as well as the twists and turns along the way keep you locked in. I had so much fun just reading the dialogue between characters. So much humor and charm behind nearly every interaction, even with the people in the town. Their friendship is an anchor in a world of chaos, and it's so wholesome despite the pressure they faced. I also liked how the battle system was based on rock. paper, scissors, even if it did make combat less complex as a turn-based game. My only gripe with the battle system was how tedious it became to battle over the course of the game. I eventually found an item that allowed me to circumvent some of the tediousness which was nice. My main complaint with the game is that there are certain parts that feel unnecessarily frustrating and difficult to complete. I would say Act 4 gave me the most trouble and I actually had to go through a walkthrough twice in order to finally pass it. The story, characters, art, and music make it worth it but it does feel a little too much at certain points even if I understand it relates to a core part of the story. I highly recommend this game! This is one of those games that can change your life by playing. I will never forget my buddies Siffrin, Odile, Isabeau, Mirabelle, and Bonnie ; u; <3
