Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is Great (Ha), It honors the series in a way that the last two movies don't. As a fan of the series it takes everything that works about the movies, the grandiose adventure and the high spec action and mostly makes it work as a game. While the main story is really good, the side content is ok? Not horrible but at 2/3rds of the game I stopped trying to do 100% because it was kind of tedious, just a lot of going from and to place. The combat was good, but kind of simple, not that deep, wish the enemy AI was a bit smarter and the guns are terrible, but I really don't think you should play this game for that, you play it for the exploration and the story. Luckily game is a looker, all the locations you visit are super interesting and varied. I'm lucky enough to have a great GPU and the graphics are some of the best I've ever seen. Shame performance isn't great, but it's not abysmal. Very much a recommendation. If you're a fan of adventure games you'll struggle to find something as enjoyable as this. Really hope this gets a sequel of sorts. Very Strong Recommend.
Total sleeper! I wasn't expecting much, but it's got a Great story, smooth gameplay, fun challenging puzzles, and is drop dead gorgeous! Instant recommend!
Simply one of the best games I've played in the last two or three years - like a lot of people have said, probably the best sequel film to the Indiana Jones series since the first three films! It's a really confident game that drips with atmosphere - sure, some things are annoying e.g. temporary melee or ranged weapons not being able to be stored in your inventory but it's really, really good fun with excellent writing, voice acting, level design and most mechanics. Performance can be a bit patchy and there are still some bugs that really should have been sorted out - I found that I was soft locked after closing the game down at what felt like a reasonable point only to find that this had prevented a trigger conversation from starting and that other players had experienced the same problem months and months before me. Even worse, there's no player controlled save system so if you have a problem you're forced to pick a rollback save and that could leave you having to repeat a chunk of the game but luckily I've only been soft locked once so far. Another thing I've noticed is that the game can be pretty stable for longish i.e. three to four hour sessions but is more prone to freeze, forcing you to close the game down, when you fast travel. None of these criticisms are nit picking - these are real issues but the game is so engaging that it's pretty easy to forgive these when the gameplay is so good. I bought it after I'd seen the game get great reviews and a great response from gamers but I'm still surprised how good it really is. Ubisoft need to take a long look to learn how they could have made Star Wars: Outlaws much, much better.
