Jet Lancer is a frenetic aerial dog-fighting game where you hunt enemy pilots, carve up giant robots, and defy death at supersonic speeds as a daring mercenary in the far future.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Niche game that easily fills the niche. It's nice to see Luftrausers iterated on with different mechanics. I appreciated the various enemies and the combinations that were delivered. The story is a bit silly and there's not really a ton of variety setting up your ship. If you like to try and overcome challenges and flying then this game is for you. The score attack levels are difficult and I was "stuck" a few times but I just needed to get good.
Really fun, great visuals, and an awesome soundtrack. I can see this being a game some could get obsessed with considering how much choice you end up getting in terms of weapons and modules. That being said I ended up using just the basic ones the game gave me cause they honestly still felt the best. Most were challenges essentially (which is fine), though even the few I was interested in (lower range but more damage) I didn't find the levels designed around this aspect? But that isn't really a negative just didn't end up doing much for me on that end. It controls great and the levels are usually fun but there are two sticking points. One is there is a really annoying enemies that hacks your missiles to redirect it, but later levels they really can sneak up on you since the enemies are randomized. And two the last 2 levels before the final boss(es) are such a huge jump in difficulty. I lost like maybe 2-3 times on all before it but man those two took like an hour each, and it's honestly just moreso because they are long levels with way too many enemies. One is a score level and I think the rng hurts this kind of level, if you get the hacking droid it can just kill a combo since you have to focus that and can't use missiles to keep the combo going. But other than those two levels I did have a blast playing it. Recommended but there's a good chance it'll suddenly kick your ass without warning.
great game and the story was good too, but I'm extremely dissapointed with how the game ends. it was very underwhelming and I was hoping there would be second phase to the boss instead of the game just ending, unless it does ng+ which I haven't done yet. could also benefit from more module variety
