epic story, epic music, love the puzzle and mechanic, i cried 3 times while playing this game hahahaha
This game is really something else since it is incredibly heavy on narrative with those environmental storytelling, where the game did not tell that Daniel is stress and forced to read the room to understand his mental state. Besides, there are unreliable narrator because has to dive into a mind that has been broken and brainwashed and discover the actual memories, repressed trauma and corporate propaganda. Its also more into heavy concepts such as existentialism, totalitarianism and the “Dasein” concept besides just horror stuff. It is really sync to 1984 dystopian reality that linked with Dasein with the most abstract parts, that represents a limbo that exists outside of linear time with the recursive loop theory where he was trapped because he is a residual file. What makes my jaw dropped is the death in reality vs existence in the void along the connection with Lisa and the metaphor especially Rachel’s act. The game visual, voice acting and music soundtrack is just so beautiful. There is so many different visual and medium for the narrative especially the symbolism that explain the characters are too brainwashed and traumatized and make us feel paranoid as Daniel. It’s like a mixture of 1984 novel, inception, death stranding and silent hill. It may be not everyone liking since it took some time to digest the story and need to pay close attention to it. But you will like it if you like these kind of theme.
Great story, though a bit confusing + some good puzzles. Definitely deserves more recognition.
