Katana Zero is a 2019 platform game developed by American indie studio Askiisoft and published by Devolver Digital. Set in a dystopian metropolis, the neo-noir storyline follows Subject Zero, a katana-wielding assassin with amnesia who can slow down time and predict the future. Zero unravels his past while completing assassination contracts. Katana Zero features side-scrolling hack-and-slash gameplay in which the player attempts to kill all enemies in a level without being hit, using Zero's abilities to manipulate time, dodge attacks, and take advantage of environmental hazards. In between levels, the story is told in sequences where the player converses with non-player characters through dialogue trees.

Runs well on modern hardware.
Masterpiece
Katana ZERO has the best synergy between gameplay features and story elements of any game ever made. The levels are masterfully crafted and introduce new elements at the right time to prevent the player from getting bored. The animations are smooth and responsive. The fast-paced gameplay is accompanied by a great soundtrack. The end of the game doesn't conclude the story, leaving the door open for future content.
My request to Justin Stander (Askiisoft)
Whenever you conclude the story, please give me the option to save the little girl from those disgusting, creepy men in the masks. I told her: "I won't let anyone hurt you."
Amazing gameplay and a very interesting story, can't wait for the DLC!
John Wick meets Pixel Art. The most creative and stressful game I've played in years. The way the story is told through the gameplay is exquisite, it's brilliant. But the gameplay of Hotline Miami 1 hit KO isn't for me, the biggest cortisol rush per minute I've ever experienced in my life.
