Killer Frequency is a 2023 first-person horror-adventure game developed and published by Team17. The game takes place in a small town in 1987, where players control a DJ who acts as an impromptu radio dispatcher when a serial killer returns to terrorise the town's residents. The player must take calls from the survivors and solve various puzzles to help them escape the killer. It received mostly positive reviews from critics, who praised its gameplay and comedy horror elements.

Runs well on modern hardware.

WHAT A VIBE! I went into the game not knowing what to expect because I didn't watch the trailer and just read the description, totally thought I'd be stuck in the DJ booth answering calls, pointing and clicking... I was in for a wonderful surprise! Such an awesome 80's aesthetic puzzle/detective game - as a book worm and scary movie enthusiast, I highly recommend this game as you'll feel completely immersed and feel as if you're actually there. Very atmospheric, the smallest noises causing paranoia when you're all alone looking for clues, solving a 20y.o mystery meanwhile helping the townsfolk escape the killer at large...the perfect game for slasher-style movies/books lovers!! Loved the plot twist, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Will have to come back and 100% this one<3
The game is OK, it's just not for me really. It's a walking and listening simulator, with some pretty simple puzzles thrown in. The acting is good, and it's OK for awhile, but the lack of a sprint button is super annoying, and if you don't save at the right place you may be stuck with a "bad" ending because the autosave only has one slot. Slogging back through stuff you already played doesn't seem appealing to me, the replayability is pretty low, so I don't have the urge to go figure out how to get the good ending. Other reviews are pretty much accurate, I knew these things going in but thought I could stomach them. In then end this is a reluctant thumb down. The game isn't bad but if I had it to do over again I wouldn't buy it or waste my time on it.
Fun game. Great vibes, and there's a palpable tension while helping these people over the radio and not knowing if they'll survive. If you're put off by horror games typically I wouldn't worry as it's a game where the tension of a horror is there but you're never put into the situations of a more typical horror like Silent Hill for example.
