Kingdom Rush is a 2011 tower defense game developed by Ironhide Game Studio and published by Armor Games. In the game's medieval fantasy setting, players take control of a general serving under King Denas of Linirea, who must defend the land from an onslaught of evil monsters. Each level is composed of a number of pre-set roads, which the player can place defensive towers around to fight off the approaching monsters. Slaying enemies gives the player gold, which they can use to buy new towers or upgrade existing ones to improve their capabilities.

Runs well on modern hardware.

I remember these games from my Childhood and they still do not disappoint. The levels are fun, the art style is tops and there are plenty of funny easter eggs to go around. Truly a fantastic franchise cannot recommend enough.
ꨄ My rating: 8/10 ꨄ Pros: - Really fun and nostalgic game that originated as a flash game initially, and eventually was brought to steam. This game features a 2D cartoon artstyle. Character designs are very colorful and some heroes are clear references and inspired from other games (hi Alleria Swiftwind...). - No hero felt particularly overpowered, allowing you to play whichever hero you liked the most, despite some being stronger than others depending on which towers you build and the specific level you're attempting to beat. - Game was harder than I expected but never really felt frustrating. It felt extremely rewarding to figure out ways to beat each level. Cons: - Despite the variety of towers available, some are clearly much stronger than others which led to never using certain types while others were always present. - Despite having good replayability due to having harder modes for each stage and some bonus stages aswell, once you unlock every tower the game becomes extremely repetitive due to there being a specific strong strategy that works in nearly every level, which for me made the last few levels a bit boring compared to the first.
The OG, great tower defense game and franchise. Good balance, good towers, good heros, good levels. Just buy it
