Left 4 Dead is a 2008 first-person shooter game developed by Valve South and published by Valve. It was originally released for Windows and Xbox 360 in November 2008 and for Mac OS X in October 2010, and is the first title in the Left 4 Dead series. Set during the aftermath of a zombie outbreak on the East Coast of the United States, the game pits its four protagonists, dubbed the "Survivors", against hordes of the infected.

absurdly good looking for a game from 2008 had a lot of fun workin through the campaign with my good pal, no real complaints other than the AI on the team members seemed a little wonky in the later missions, and for some reason at the end of each campaign my game would throw an "out of memory" error and i'd have to restart, not sure what that was about banger game tho these zombies move comically fast
aged like fine wine, great zombie co-op shooter game still worth playing even compared to the sequel
although left 4 dead 2 definitely has better quality of life stuff and is pretty much improved upon the original, left 4 dead 1 still remains a gem even to this day, i love the gloomy and bleak atmosphere of the game, and the gameplay is the same iconic and fun gameplay of left 4 dead. it's just amazing overall sitting right next to the sequel.
