what a great adventure. puzzles are very good, and exploration and attention to details is rewarded. one of its kind, and the greatest dungeon crawler since Eye of the Beholder
The game is a very good sequel to the first game. A huge number of things have been improved and expanded. The game is quite difficult, with an "old school" feel. Four tips: 1) If the map doesn't launch, add compatibility mode. 2) If saves sometimes crash, there's a 2GB to 4GB fix online. 3) When you start playing, having a character with Concentration 1 and Water Magic 1 (the requirements for Dispel) will save you a lot of trouble with elementals. 4) After finishing the base game, the Guardians mod is PHENOMENAL and VERY expands the game by adding a full campaign—longer than the base game.
Its fantastic for players who enjoyed Dungeon Master. It has mods, but first time players, just play the game normally. Its HARD, so pick "normal". Food is scares, so save often. The game may crash every once in a while, even if your system is high end. Its because its hardcoded to use only 2GB of Vram. There is a patch you can download to make it 4GB (its in the code). I have 72GB Vram in win 11, and not crashed much at all. If its luck or windowns, I cant tell. The game is very engaging. You develope your team, solve riddles and progress by fighting or find stuff out. The RPG trait of "whats behind this rock?" is here! Once you completed the game, or give up cause you can get past something or get stuck, and you are like me who dont cheat and look it up, there are lots of mods with NEW worlds that you can import your team and keep playing. Food and starvation is annoying, but hey, kinda real when you think about it. 8/10 for this game. Jonas, the Swedish Goth.
