For my 100th review, we've got my favorite game of all time: Life is Strange. I first played Life is Strange in the fall of 2024 on my PlayStation, and I honestly loved every second of it. The story is among the best I've ever experienced, and it has genuinely stuck with me to this day. In fact, this was the game that truly got me into story-driven games, alongside Firewatch. The visuals are very unique, even if they're a tiny bit outdated. The soundtrack is also fantastic and fits perfectly wherever it plays. The characters are probably the biggest reason why I enjoy this game so much. Max is, in my opinion, the perfect main character, and Chloe is the perfect deuteragonist. They're both incredibly well-written, and every major character feels important to the story. I never felt like a single character was unnecessary. The choice system is also among the best I've experienced in gaming, and Max's rewind power is one of the most memorable mechanics I've ever used. Your decisions actually matter, making every choice feel meaningful. I honestly can't think of a single bad thing about this game. No game is perfect, but this is probably the closest I've ever come to calling one a 10/10. If you haven't played Life is Strange yet, you're missing out on one of the best story-driven gaming experiences you'll ever have. It only felt right that my 100th Steam review went to my favorite game of all time.
This game is a true masterpiece. I never expected the story to unfold the way it did. Every chapter kept me hooked, and by the time I reached the ending, the game hit me with one of the hardest choices I've ever had to make . No matter what you choose someone loses and you're left feeling emotionally drained. The plot twists completely caught me off guard. I never imagined that the person I trusted the most. the one I believed could never do anything wrong—would betray your trust. At the same time, the character I initially thought was the bad guy ended up saving you. (If you've played the game, you'll know exactly what I mean) The game does an incredible job of manipulating your emotions and challenging your assumptions. It constantly makes you question who to trust, and that's one of the reasons the story is so unforgettable. The storytelling, gameplay mechanics, atmosphere, and especially the soundtrack are all phenomenal. Everything comes together to create an emotional experience that stays with you long after the credits roll. 10/10. One of the best story-driven games I've ever played.
I started this game as a chill game that a friend recommended to me, and I ended this game as a person who cried tears every single time I played it. The decisions felt like they truly come from me, and the final decision is what I wish I had picked in real life : Me and my best friend against the entire world. 10/10 game
