Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is a 2023 action-adventure game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. It is a spin-off of the Like a Dragon series. Taking place during the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon (2020), Like a Dragon Gaiden focuses on the series' original protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, as he embarks on a new adventure in Osaka under the guise of a secret agent.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Bought to play as Kiryu but got some bum-ass nobody named Joryu instead. Tears were falling down my cheeks at the end. Bought it only because I wanted to continue Like a Dragon, but its a great self contained game in itself. Recommend.
Started off a little slow but it's so worth it. I gave up on it a few months ago, came back recently and played it for around ~10 hours in one session. The abilities and tech is pretty rewarding once you start using it well, and the bosses are tough but fair. Furthermore, the final sequence was so incredibly good, like I'm being so for real. The story is okay at first and then ramps up to a 10/10 during chapter 3, it's just so good
Kiryu hasn't wanted to be in the series since Y3 and it shows here. He painfully does not want to be involved in this story so it's hard to stay invested. The "I've never met this Kiryu man, no you must have me confused" schtick is funny at first but loses its charm as the façade falls away over time. You can play most minigames and game modes in other Yakuza games. The drones are somewhat fun but you can get by without engaging with that system.
