Limbus Company is a darkly stylish turn-based strategy RPG from Project Moon, set in the same universe as Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina. As the Manager of Limbus Company, you must command a crew of twelve "Sinners"—distorted individuals based on classic literature—aboard the Mephistopheles bus. Your mission is to retrieve the Golden Boughs, powerful relics scattered across the ruins of a dystopian City. The game features a unique clash-based combat system where winning skill clashes is key to victory. Deep team customization is achieved through the "Identity" system, allowing you to assign different roles and skill sets to each Sinner. Uncover a grim narrative as you battle abnormalities, rival syndicates, and the inner demons of your own crew.

Runs well on modern hardware.
Where to even begin? This game has so much to praise.

The Gacha
You all have heard this a limbillion of times, and I will reiterate: This game's gacha economy is, without a doubt, the superior one. Most gachas present the same issues, with FOMO, overpriced transactions, meaningless upgrades and min-maxing, and whatever else there is. This game would be criticized... ...If it weren't for the Dispense System. Anything you want, whenever you want, so long as you have resources for it. FOMO is a non-existing concept in this game. Obviously some caveats apply (Such as Walpurgis Nacht being time-gated but periodical, the collab EGOs, which will never appear again or not being able to pull previous-season content until the next season starts), but this is a first for the gacha genre, and more games should follow suit. The generosity doesn't end here though, the overall economy is big on giving you ample resources and making exchanges not insanely draining. Regular compensations give tons of free lunacy, coupled with the mirror dungeon. Character upgrades are simple and take only 2 kinds of simple-to-farm resources. The battle pass, even the free one, boasts tons of stuff to aid your resource economy, and this is only improved if you actually buy the battle pass! (Which goes for around 12 euros last i checked, its a great idea to pick it up if you can).
The Combat
Combat in Limbus Company follows suit on what Library of Ruina introduced, but slightly expanded and simplified heavily in certain areas: You have a skill slot, and you must make a skill clash against the opposing skill. Whoever wins deals damage. The system is simple, though there are caveats and mechanics more advanced users can exploit to gain an edge (Offense Level is most relevant). This can result in combat being a bit boring sometimes (I will not deny that), however more modern IDs try to fix this issue, by providing not only really well made flashy animations, but also nuanced kits with sometimes complex effects. (It is pretty satisfying to hear all your empowered S3s go off against a single tanky boss, and seeing all the big damage numbers and funky effects). This is further enhanced by the presence of status effects, with whole teams made to focus on one or two (Sometimes even three!), or faction-specific teams which support eachother alongside fueling their main status (Blade Lineage comes to mind as a faction-specific poise team).
The Music
I don't think i'm qualified enough to describe how beautiful the tracks are. You've heard this enough times anyways.
The Story
The world Project Moon engineered is marvelous. The entire franchise revolves solely in a single place, that being the City, a gigantic cityscape set in a post-apocalyptic earth, housing billions of people. The city's structure is pretty simple in complex, with it being divided into 26 different districts from A to X (WE DON'T TALK ABOUT Z CORP) each led by their own megacorporation. A, B and C corp are part of The Head, which acts as the central government and overseers of the city, being the strongest faction (Which is an understatement). There are however a huge variety of factions and groups, each with their own qualities and quirks, from the criminal organizations of the five Fingers, to the many fixer offices, there is no shortage of characters. Oh and the story presented by the game itself is top-notch as well. All of the characters get their own screentime, especially so during their own Canto, in which a character is put in the spotlight of the events where they resolve their own issues. Its easy to grow fond of each of them, especially when they finally start to actually work with eachother and care. (I love my little bandwagon of mishapen violent vagabonds)
TL:DR
Gacha good, combat good, music VERY VERY GOOD, story magnificent, and Kim Jihoon is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ genius and I am his biggest fan. One of the few games i completely dedicate to, and I cannot wait for more.
i was once stuck in a toilet with no paper and the water has stopped working. utterly despairing at my predicament, i struck the shinji pose upon my ceramic throne as i continued wailing. all of a sudden, i heard a loud rumbling noise as the mephistopheles crashed straight into cubicle beside me. the glorious director kim ji hoon accompanied by the limbus company bus team all stepped out and handed me 12 rolls of toilet paper and fixed the water pipe for me. 10/10 (he also promised me free 13k lunancy and lifetime membership at hamhampangpang) [i lost 60+ rolls and got nothing for walpurgis]
Best game to get in to the Project Moon. Worst comunity among all PM games. Does anything else has to be said? Yes im a "Fake fan" because i dont know what hapends in limbus alot. But i dont have to Deticate my life to a franchis to be a fan.
