Lisa is a quirky side-scrolling RPG set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Beneath the charming and funny exterior is a world full of disgust and moral destruction. Players will learn what kind of person they are by being FORCED to make choices. These choices permanently effect the game play. If you want to save a party member from death, you will have to sacrifice the strength of your character. Whether it's taking a beating for them, or chopping off limbs, or some other inhuman way. You will learn that in this world being selfish and heartless is the only way to survive...

Runs well on modern hardware.

My favorite video game of all time. Permanently shaped my taste in all other games, my taste in films, quite literally my taste in everything. It's also just a total landmark as to what RPG Maker as a tool is capable of, and how such an engine, any game engine really, is only as much of a limitation as you let it be. 10/10.
Lisa the Painful is possibly one of the best RPGMakers, and possibly rpgs in general since the way it's design is very well crafted with only nitpicks I would like to bring up due to the fact that it being a turn based RPG has some downsides to communicate a truly painful experience. Otherwise in first playthroughs it communicates that premise so very well. My only problems I have with Lisa is the definitive edition, and how originally it costed $10. The consolation prize here is that you can still play the original. Im so happy Austin, and Serenity didnt delisted it and gave you another product unlike many game companies but the review is already long as it so please just buy Lisa, and if its good play Joyful to see what happens afterwards. Thanks Dingaling
I have found myself genuinely transfixed with this game. It is easily one of the best Indie RPGs ive played, an amazingly, disgusting, disturbing, painful, and f***ing hilarious. An unbelievable balance of tone this game has. It would have me actually laughing and in a matter of literal seconds later, make my heart drop. (And vice versa as well.) Truly bangin yet unconventional OST too man. I strongly implore any fan of rpgs to play this. It is a must.
