It includes elements of role-playing, adventure and horror games, and has an anime-inspired visual style. Little Goody Two Shoes is a masterpiece! 1) The story is amazing, the characters interesting and it’s multifaceted gameplay as well as multiple endings guarantee a good time for a long time. 2) The music and atmosphere involve the player be it in the lighthearted or horrifying moments. 3) The cutscenes and "anime opening" style sequences are stunning to watch and listen to. A "testament", one could say, to the passion and hard work put into the game's creation.
Not a huge fan of horror games but this game has easily become one of my all time favorites. Enchanting music and environments, amazing characters, fun little mini games and LESBIANS. I wish I could erase my memories and play this game for the first time again, I'd even be willing to collect the Gifts for it! For goodness sake!
This is one of, if not the best game I have ever played, and everything here is a testament to the love, care, and thought AstraShift put into this work. The main thing that draws people into this game, and the main talking point, is this game's art. It's a blend of 90's animes, fairytale imagery, and olden cottage/prairie settings. Beyond anything I can put into words, it's a wonderful mix of coziness, beauty, and haunting imagery Every single character, major or minor, feels like a real human in the time-appropriate fictional village of Kieferberg. The main love interests are all unique in their special little ways, and the way they interact with Elise gives both sides character development. While most people don't initially like Elise, she immediately clicked with me; I grew up poor and I'm still an outsider in every community I've been in, so her feelings of disdain and bitterness over her situation, and her wish for wealth, is something I can heavily relate to The game is unapologetically lesbian, but I think people misconstrue that as the only thing going for this game. Themes of mob mentality, isolation, loneliness, womanhood, and change are all integral parts to the story, and they're all explored through Elise's reactions to them Something about the horror deeply touches my soul; it's dreamy and deeply ominous rather than explicitly scary, something that haunts me when I think about it. The best way I can put it is that it's like a cautionary fairytale, which I assume is what AstralShift was going for. Things like the nighttime house music and the upstairs mural's sound cue are so haunting; like I'm stepping into something I shouldn't have Without spoiling anything too much, the endings (at least the ones I've seen; I haven't gotten to Rozenmarine's route yet) are either the most heartwarming triumphs or the most genuinely miserable experiences ever if you're as emotionally invested as I was. I cried five times last night. That's 5 times more than I usually do I've struggled my entire life; growing up poor, being a queer woman, and being an extremely emotionally stunted outsider. This game has made me realise that, most importantly, I'm still able to feel things, and that what I should be feeling isn't bitterness, but instead hope. I hope this game has that sort of reach for more people, because it's a truly beautiful thing
